Thanks for the recap mate, I always enjoy reading reviews from people who have attended the game. Yeah it's disappointing so many of our top prospects had to miss the game. Good to hear Kindl played well and the fact that he didn't really stand out is probably more of a good thing. And he had an assist which is good because he was pointless in 4 straight coming into today.

Up until recently, I've always thought keep Franzen instead of Hossa. Now I'm very much in favour of keeping Hossa instead. He's a freak. We can keep Hudler, Hossa and Flip. Franzen goes.

Just thought I'd point out that with his 2 assists tonight Filppula has passed his assist total from all of last season, in 27 fewer games. Sure the goalscoring is way down but he actually has a higher PPG than last year. Interesting eh?

Thanks dobbles for the stats and that little tip. Glad to see the Griffins won, looks like Howard was huge! We only dressed 11 forwards, I see Ritola was missing. And who the heck is Mike Walsh?!

Really excited to see Helm play. Despite the fact he's only 21 and hasn't played that many games for the Wings he's already one of my favourite players. I just love the way he plays the game, everytime he's out on the ice he's making something happen. Go get 'em Helm! Hopefully the Wings can get a solid victory here, unlike the one against the Blues. I say we win 5-2.

I was very impressed. Good work ethic, good vision and some nifty passes. What I wasn't impressed with was Babcock's refusal to play him late. Draper found himself on a line with Datsyuk and Hossa in the 3rd while Leino sat.

First of all yes Chelios was very good tonight. But I think I could have looked better than Rafalski. Kronwall was bad but not in the same league of bad as Rafalski.

I'm struggling to get over just how rubbish Rafalski is.

Rochester Americans (15-26-0-4) @ Grand Rapids Griffins (28-9-6-3) @ The Grand Rapids Griffins play their first game in 6 days as they are at home taking on the last place Rochester Americans. The Griffins are on a 5 game streak where they have gained at least one point and are currently 2nd in the North Division. Despite only scoring 2 goals from their past 2 games the Griffins have managed to gain wins from both on the back of stellar goaltending from both Larsson and Howard. Howard started the previous game but Larsson participated in the All-Star game so Howard may get the nod tonight. Despite the fact they take on a poor opponent the Griffins will need to be at their best. They have been off the ice for an extended period and they are missing some of their best performers. Ville Leino is out, as is Downey, and Helm and Ericsson are both expected to miss due to injury. The depth of the squad will be tested but that has been one of their biggest strengths this season. Former Red Wing prospect Shawn Matthias will play for Rochester and will look at cause the Wings some pain.
