Pretty sad realy when the entire LGW wants him traded. Fortunately the Detroit management know a thing or two about the game and about the development of players and therefore Filppula will remain a Wing next season and for the 4 after. The Wings are hardly a team to cut someone after giving thema a 5 year deal the previous year. He's a Wings draftee, he bided his time in the AHL, he's been big in the playoffs and he's only 24. He's not going anywhere.

Well the Griffins certainly got their revenge tonight! 8-4 win! 1. GR Oulahen, (12) (Helm, Tardif), 2:58 2. GR Lemieux, (6) (McGrath), 2:37 2. GR Helm, (11) , 18:11 (PP) 3. GR Oulahen, (13) (Helm, Ericsson), 3:42 3. GR Lemieux, (7) (Pare, McGrath), 10:24 3. GR Kolosov, (2) (McGrath, Pare), 17:12 3. GR Lemieux, (8) (McGrath, Pare), 19:33 3. GR Kolosov, (3) (Mursak, Gagnon), 19:54 (PP) Larsson 27 saves on 31 shots. Three Stars: 1. GR - 21 Francis Lemieux (3G) 2. GR - 16 Ryan Oulahen (2G) 3. GR - 15 Darren Helm (G, 2A) Kolosov's a machine!

Well surprise, surprise, we're going to another SO. The 3rd consecutive shootout for the Griffins. Can't win another can we?
-
Abdelkader is a like for like replacement with Holmstrom going down, this move makes sense. Still, I have been wanting Ritola to be the one recalled as his play has warranted it.
-
Griffins up 2-1 with a 8 minutes remaining in the 3rd. Another close game. Howard in net and has saved 28 of 29 shots. Scoring for the Griffins: 2. GR Kolosov, (1) (Ritola, Tardif), 6:19 2. GR Oulahen, (11) (Haydar, Helm), 7:53 (PP) Matthias assisted on the lone Rochester goal, as did Gelech who the Griffins loaned to the Americans.

EPIC! Nadal and Verdasco thankyou, best match of the Australian Open, best match in Melbourne Park's history, and probably the second best match I've ever seen. Cmon Rafa, you're in Roger's head, you've got to get it done!
-
And what's even more depressing is that Draper has played 3 and a half more minutes than Hudler at even strength.
-
TOI: Kopecky 9:39 Hudler 8:34 Why would Hudler even want to re-sign?
-
Kronwall is awful, flat out awful.
-
And will people stop bagging Flip for maybe a minute or two?
-
I don't disagree.
-
They're still saying it should be a goal on the radio...
-
Regardless of who is out, this is unacceptable.
-
Another rubbish thread. Keep Flip, re-sign Franzen and Hudler. Hossa walks. Pretty simple stuff I would've thought.

It looked as though it would get real ugly but to Roddick's credit he put up a fight. He's just a horrendous match-up against Federer. Rafa is once again my only hope.
-
Good news but I've got to be honest, I would much prefer Ritola. He deserves a call-up, especially before Downey.
-
Agreed with every word of this. If he's stuck it out this far, he'll stay the season and get re-signed during the off season. Given the Griffins will make the playoffs this season he'll have his mind on that job and that'll keep him focussed. The Wings know he's too good to let get away.
-
See my avatar for my current bandwagon. I mean I'm on Nadal's first, but I really, really, really want Roddick to beat Federer. And cmon Dementieva, this has got to be your Slam!
-
12 years is a heck of a long time but this is a fantastic deal! Holland does it again, and more loyalty showed by Detroit players. Now to get Franzen and Hudler re-signed and I'll be completely satisfied. This signing and the fact it's only a $6 million cap hit we've got a much better chance of getting that done!

I really don't like Rick Nash. Today doesn't help matters. -

Datsyuk to win it in OT. Oh wait... -
Exactly, it's not as though he'll be there long, thankfully for Grand Rapids.

What's he doing/done wrong? -
Pathetic by Djokovic. Soft as usual. Great work by Roddick who was outplaying him anyway. Dokic. Great, great effort though and what an amazing tournament! Del Potro.
