Agreed. Kid is doing a marvelous job in Grand Rapids and after starting the season as a healthy scratch he now seems to be a permanent fixture in the team and is putting up the points including scoring the GWG last night.

I'm sure everyone (Hossa, Holland, the team) knows that Hossa is just here for this season. It's just impossible to get him re-signed without seriously putting some massive holes in the team. As sad as it will be to see him go, we've got to accept he's just a season long rental which virtually cost us nothing.

Hartford Wolf Pack (6-5-0-1) @ Grand Rapids Griffins (6-2-2-1) @ The Hartford Wolf Pack are in town to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins. Ironically, this is the first ever meeting between the two teams and one of only 5 Eastern Conference teams the Griffins will face. Hartford are a big, bruising team and have one of the highest penalty minute totals in the league whereas the Griffins are the least penalized team. The highly touted Bob Sanguinetti, the Rangers first round pick in the 2006 draft, is off to a good start with 7 points for the season. Leino made a somewhat sluggish return against the Aeros and should be back to his best tonight. James Howard is hoping to return and is expected to get the start. Recalled defenseman P.J. Atherton might also be back in the line-up, probably at the expense of Sergei Kolosov. Probable line-up: Wilson - Abdelkader - Haydar Ritola - Helm - Leino Pare - McGrath - Emmerton Lemieux - Oulahen - Mursak Kindl - Galvin Ericsson - Pyett Stafford - P.J. Atherton Howard Larsson Team Leaders: Goals: Abdelkader (7) Assists: Leino (9) Points: Leino (13) Penalty Minutes: Wilson, Abdelkader (21) Notes: • Jimmy Howard is expected to get the start after recovering from a bruised calf. • Darren Helm is showing there’s more to his game than energy and hustle as he has 10 points in 9 games.

Great recapCoyote. I swear I must have been out of it yesterday because I honestly thought Ritola wasn't playing, and yet he was. And that would be great dobbles! Score is 0-0 at the end of 1. Larsson in net, captain Haydar is back too. -

Filppula to score the next game and get the GWG. I've called it.
-
Nathan Horton is da bomb ladies and gets. Wings, now!
-
It's okay, I've accepted the fact we'll never have an easy game this season. Rafalski, you're awesome.
-
I like Hudler-Filppula-Kopecky.
-
Yep, second game back, has an assist tonight.
-
Really? Surprised to hear that. Horton's one of my favourite players, good all around player and great leader, maybe he's a quiet type.
-
Darren Helm- too good for the AHL. G+A already tonight.
-
The HOSS!!! That goal came out of nowhere.

Downey and Tardif in the line-up. No Ritola? Surely not a healthy scratch? Must be his turn for some minor injury. Griffins down 1-0 just over midway through the first. Howard in net. -
Two more of my favs. Richards is a Red Wings type player; the man does it all.
-
1. Alexander Ovechkin 2. Jay Bouwmeester 3. Nathan Horton 4. Anze Kopitar 5. Ilya Kovalchuk

2008-2009 NBA Season Thread (Pistons trade for Allen Iverson)

I really, really like Aaron Afflalo. Outstanding performance today. -
This came as a surprise to me. He wasn’t exactly dominating in the ECHL so why call him up? It’s not as though we have a shortage of defenceman in Grand Rapids; we’re scratching 1 or 2 defenders every night as it is.
-
Nothing Helm couldn't do.
-
How can someone so useless rack up the points?
-

Thanks. I’ve really got to get more familiar with these radio links. I used to just click on the listen live link but unless I’m blind I can’t ever find that anymore.
-
Fantastic, thanks a lot mate.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked but are there ANY radio feeds of this game from either the Wings or Lightning? I don't fancy keeping track by just looking at the scoresheet.
