Saw him for the first time the other day and yes, he is a gem. Size, hockey sense, physical and can certainly score. They got a legitimate power forward deep in the second round… And Boston sure do have some impressive young talent.

How ridiculous is the Griffins scheduling to start the season? Season opener on the road, wait a week and then play the same team on the road again. Then a game the next day, followed by almost another week wait, then another game the next day. And they haven't even had their home opener yet...

Admittedly I haven’t seen much, only bits and pieces, but it’s more what I’ve read. I do a lot of research on our prospects and read a lot about Ritola from a variety of sources. When he first came to North America very few expected him to even stay here for over a year. He was said to be lazy and put in an inconsistent effort from shift to shift. Well in a dismal Griffins team last season he was one of the highlights. While he didn’t put up a lot of points, his play was still very encouraging. Most had a pretty poor +/- ratings whereas Mattias finished at a +10. The responsibility he showed to the defensive side of his game was great considering this was one of the main queries of his game. He was one of the last cut to begin last season and he even made his NHL debut. Once again this season he was in the last group of cuts. I think he’s ranked way too harshly on both RWC and HF’s prospects rankings. Is he lazy as was believed? No. Is he poor on the defensive end as was believed? No. He’s highly skilled; in fact I read from numerous posters that he displayed an eye popping skill level last season. He’s used on the PP and in the shootout. With his skill level and ability to make plays he could be an extremely valuable player in Detroit, perhaps as soon as 2010/11. He could work pretty well with guys like Datsyuk and or Zetterberg because it’ll bring out his best attributes. Of course this season is still very young but he's off to a great start and looks to be doing his all to be up with Detroit one day. Kindl and Ritola are the two prospects I'm the most excited about.

He had his chance, Babs put him out there with the EN. Draper just couldn't quite come good on my prediction! The Wings did a pretty poor job of getting it out of the zone. Lucky Kariya fumbled that puck otherwise they might have just managed to tie it up. Worst player on the ice was without doubt Kronwall. 2 stupid penalties, both led to goals, and he couldn't handle the puck and made some poor mistakes. Just a horrible game on his behalf. Hossa played only 16 odd minutes, surprising. It was virtually the top 2 lines + Draper (for his EN expertise) in the last 5 or so minutes.

3-2. We're still turning the puck over way too much, defence being lazy. Lidstrom missed the net by an absolute mile on his shot.

Datsyuk is amazing, his puck control is unbelievable. And Kronwall is playing very poorly.

3, and those will be his only goals this year. It's hard even seeing him score a point this season without the goalie sitting on the bench. Oh you said NON empty net. Answer= zero.

Very much agreed, I'm still disappointed we let another team claim Quincey after he spent 5 years developing with us. Lebda is pretty much worthless considering we have Meech and Pyett in GR developing.

Goal and 2 assists today. Has three 3 point games in his last 4 outings. 12 points in 12 games this season, not bad considering he had 9 points in 56 games in his rookie season.
