Totally. They should be a LOT better than they are. To me the defence is the weak point, firstly they are weak defensively, but they are also terrible at breakout passes which means the forwards have to do all the work. Don't get me started on the coaching though...

It's been a while since we've had such a weak 4th line. In the past few years Helm has been on the 4th with Eaves. Now it's Emmerton, and he is exceptionally mediocre. Doesn't have much speed, doesn't hit, struggles on faceoffs.

Griffins lose 5-4 in OT. Andersson with 2 goals. Tatar with 2 assists. Nyquist with 2 assists. Good game by our prospects, but the team continues to underperform. McCollum played well, the defence didn't.

Ryan Sproul tonight: Goal, 2 assists, +4.

Fournier has got to be one of the quietest prospects ever; in regards to the fact that nothing is ever said about him. He played well. He finished at even +/-, but the last goal was just a mess. Started with a Conner giveaway and they couldn’t recover. It's got to the point where I'd rather him get ice-time than Lashoff.

Another game, another goal for Jurco.

In just 9 minutes of duty, McCollum's faced 11 shots and saved them all. The Griffins hit back wit a PP goal from defenceman Gleason Fournier, who is making his AHL debut. Assists to Tatar and McCollum.

Griffins down 2-0 after 15 minutes. Jordan Pearce pulled already, so now it's McCollum's turn.

Good post. Watching Zetterberg out there right now is making me sick. What happened to his strength, to his passing, to his decision making? He looks totally lost out there. He's got to be hurt, because in the past he's normally always firing pucks on net, from anywhere on the ice, but now he's not even at least doing that.

No way. Carter was traded out of Philly mainly because of off ice issues, and now he's rumoured to be fed up in Columbus after not even a quarter of a season? Avoid at all costs. Besides, Nyquist is our best forward prospect, and we just drafted Jurco and he's having a tremendous season.

I almost fell off my chair when I woke up to see the contract Holland gave Ericsson. Horrendous deal. This guy is a career 3rd pairing defenceman, and he's getting paid $3+mil?! Crazy. He's clueless out there.

Totally agree. And as one last, 'final piece of the puzzle' move, lets get Boyd Devereaux up to centre the 4th line. Then we'd truly be set.

I like it BUT... we've heard the same thing so many times, just addressed slightly differently. True, the effort is not there seemingly 50% of our games, and that has to change, but Im not sure we have the personnel anymore. Take tonight for instance, the Sharks really are just too good, too many top 6 players, too much depth. They are bigger, stronger, faster, hungrier. If we could sustain the 1st period effort (minus the SH goal) for 60 minutes, then we might be able to achieve something, but I dont think this team has it in them anymore. We'll win a couple of games, and then go on another losing streak and we'll here it again. This team is stale, too comfortable, and sadly the effort we saw tonight has seemingly become acceptable. And our star players (Datsyuk, Zetterberg) need to step up and be accountable for their pathetic performances.

We need to get Jason Williams back into the fold.

I've never seen anyone fall down as much as Brunnstrom. Why'd Mursak have to get injured? Not saying he's the difference or anything, but his speed and energy would've been nice amongst a sea of garbage.
