A few thoughts: • Our defence has been terrific, especially given the loss of Lidstrom. Meech even played well, he used his speed and managed to get an assist on the PP goal. I like Quincey, I think he’s been solid tonight and he should develop into a very good defenceman. As for Chelios, he’s playing great and on this form I don’t see him calling it quits anytime soon, at least he shouldn’t! • Datsyuk is amazing; the Chelios goal was all due to his hustle. Already credited 2 takeaways tonight and he seems to strip opponents of the puck with ease. • Flip’s goal was great, not sure how he managed to score given the angle he had to shoot. Hopefully that’ll get his confidence up! • Hudler was VERY good. Good to see him getting adequate ice time too which will do wonders for his confidence. • Lidstrom hurt his knee, oh dear. I just hope it’s not a serious injury. • Osgood has been great. He’s “back” in form, not that his past two outings were really his fault anyway.

FILPPULA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES! Well done Huds!
-
Downey! Well done, vey well done. I normally don't see the value in fights, but that right there was a good one under the circumstances.
-
I'm not just saying this because he scored, but Chelios has probably been our best player out there. He's looking fantastic tonight, he really is, and even before the goal I was thinking to myself that he could play for another year or two if he keeps this up.
-
CHELIOS!!! Your goal Dats, great play!
-
Meech on the PP. Just about sums it up I would've thought.
-
Oh no, Lids hurt. Not Lids. Samuelsson btw is incredibly useless. They said he's a "good shooter". Then his shot get blocks, as per usual.
-
Why the heck was Downey on a line with Zetterberg? Wings looking very sharp though.

I'm so PUMPED for this game! 3rd game this season that's live in Australia! The last two I've got have been 0-2 and 1-0, so I'm hoping for a slightly more entertaining game, but I'll just take a win to stop the streak! In the past I've seen games when we've been on huge winning streaks, so I figure this time maybe it'll be a reverse. Cmon boys! Get the job done!

Have his chances of playing for the Wings this season increased? I'd certainly think so.

The +/- stat on a poor team is a pretty meaningless stat IMO. Cullen was -4, Insana and Corazzini -3. The Griffins gave up 5 goals in the first period. They suck, that's the bottom line. Helm couldn't have been doing too bad a job because the coach kept sending him out there and he did have a game time 7 shots on goal.
-
Link Link Well for someone taken with the 291st pick in the 2002 draft he sure is making remarkable progress. He added another assist today which makes 13 points, +9 and 54 PIM’s in 28 games for the Griffins. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 218-pounds he is definitely one to keep an eye on.
-
Ericsson had a goal and an assist last night, which now makes 24 points in 53 games. He is +4, one of the few players on the team with a plus rating. And tonight he was in a fight. He's a very intriguing prospect.

Looking at those lines, I'm going to have to say it, we need more secondary scoring. The third line will be lucky to score 1 goal in 10 games, and the fourth is even worse. Can't believe Hudler is down there though. And it's about time we get to see Filppula with Zetterberg! Been wondering how they'd go together for a while now.

Post of the year!

Great trade, pull the trigger. People need to realise Kronwall’s injuries are not bad luck, he is INJURY PRONE. Nothing will change; he’ll always be this way. Some sportspeople are like this, and he’s definitely one of them. He’ll be retired by the time he’s 32 the way he’s going, and what tends to happen to people who suffer a lot of injuries is that they reach their peak early and the decline sets in a lot quicker than to others.

Jesse Wallin.
-
Yeh, because the Griffins are such an offensive powerhouse, scoring goals at will... NOT. They've struggled to put pucks in the net all season long. McCarty's 4th game and he scores a hat-trick, which makes 5 points already. It's a very good effort.
-
How useless is Samuelsson.
-
OOPS! I'd like to see it happen though.
-
Agree, I hate nothing more than posts like that. Really drive me crazy. I am alone in worrying though that the only time we score is with 13-40-91 on the ice?
-
3 goals, 1 assist, +3, 4 shots.
-
The home crowd should never boo their team off. That's just pathetic IMO. This might sound crazy, but why not bring up McCarty? Why not? He's scored 2 goals tonight and will provide the team and crowd some energy.
