I won’t even pretend to know anything about the guys we picked; all I know is most people are extremely annoyed we took Stuckey over Young.

    Wimbledon 2007

I've had some good results today. Safarova finished off her game, Ivanovic won through to the 3rd round, and Wayne Arthurs just beat Robredo in straight sets! I didn't give him much of a chance but what a result! If it were me living next door to Hewitt I'd be over all the time touching up my skills! And of course we both support the Adelaide Crows (AFL team) so we have a few things in common.

Unfortunately at the end of day 4 Hewitt will be the only Aussie left. I can’t see Arthurs winning; in fact I don’t know how he won his 1st round match. His court movement was pretty poor, considering he’s in his mid 30’s it’s no surprise, and Robredo will find it easy to pass him. Whereas Guccione is just terrible and without his serve he wouldn’t be in the top 1000. It was no surprise to see Molik lose however I’m very disappointed Stosur was defeated. Pratt’s our only female left and she’s on her last legs. Australian tennis is in a bad way. Pity the rain interrupted play because Safarova was only a few games away from advancing. Ivanovic is also first up on court 13. However she made a quote about how she’s still worn out from the French Open so she might not advance as far as I would like. And I like Jarkko Nieminen; I hope he does well!

    If Schneider signs elsewhere...

I say Kindl! Sure he may not QUITE be ready yet but he's a big guy and I say fast track his development and let him learn from playing alongside Lidstrom and Chelios.

Pretty confident Lucie can win! Molik will probably be eliminated by Serena tonight. And then she’ll probably face another Aussie in Stosur in the 3rd round. So Serena could knock out two Aussies on the trot.

    Tkachuk traded back to Blues

This can't keep happening. You shouldn't be allowed to head straight back to the team you were on.

Holland: Hard desicions must be made.

Agreed, and not to mention we re-signed him for 3 years!

Hasek expected to sign by end of week.

Wow, cya later Schneider. Many people have said what a great guy he is but I think money talks quite loudly for him. I remember he almost walked after his first season here. I couldn’t be happier if Bert signs for a mere $2 million. I'd be prepared to pay at least $3 million so we should get this done as quickly as possible.

Holland: Hard desicions must be made.

Hasek will be back, so therefore one out of Bertuzzi, Markov and Schneider will return. Holland said we have roughly $10 million to spend, so I can’t figure out how that will eventuate to only 2 players returning. You would assume Hasek will sign for about $2 milion, and Markov about $3, so that leaves $5 million for one of Bertuzzi/Schneider. Two deals I wish we didn’t make were Kronwall and Maltby.

    Wimbledon 2007

Wow, that is a great deal! Safarova will play Jankovic in the 3rd round, and Lucie has already pulled off some big upsets at the Slams this year.

I assume Kindl will be playing? I hope he dominates!

Holland: Prices for Bertuzzi, Schneider & Markov high

Does anyone else get the feeling they’ll try and re-sign Markov before Schneider? IMO if Schneider departs they’ll give Kindl a chance to make the roster, and seeing as though he almost made it last season he'd have to be a fair chance to make it in 2007/08.

You’d be forgiven for thinking he’s a forward.

I remember people were unhappy with Kindl when he was selected. I'm sure Smith will be good.

They're saying he's a GREAT skater. Him and Kindl could be a good partnership in 3-4 years time.
