Do we really need him back though? Sure he was a great player for this hockey club, but I think it’s time we moved on. Injuries have taken their toll and he’s clearly past his best. He averages 5:24 of TOI, is pointless and is out injured.

Unfortunately they’re all minors. Kindl scored the GWG today.

Great game for Kindl last night. Had 3 assists and was +3. He now has 42 points in 40 games, is +21 and has 88 PIM's. He has 10 points in 5 games too.

Howard finally returned to the ice tonight and had a shutout! He made 28 saves and was named the 3rd star. Great return.

I personally don’t think we would be willing to part with Lilja for Forsberg. I know I would want more in return.

He obviously has a bright future, but I don’t believe he is worth anywhere near the contract he was offered and subsequently signed.

I guess I expected more from these two. Abdelkader was taken with the 42nd pick in the 2005 draft, ahead of Latendresse (lets not go there). And then Matthias, taken with the 47th pick. I guess the first hope is that they’ll make the NHL, but in the back of your mind you want a little more than grind line players with 2nd rounders.

Yeh I agree tonight’s win was very encouraging. The forwards were all instrumental, and this obviously has a lot to do with Webber. He’s a great passer and can really hit the open man. He had a very solid game today with 18 pts, 11 rbs and 4 ast. I’m slowly starting to think this team could be a threat come playoff time. What we do need though is a backup PG as the offence grinds to a halt when Hunter's in the game. Hopefully we can trade Mohammed and Murray, interestingly enough our two ‘boom’ recruits. Haven’t they turned out to be disastrous fits in Detroit? If we could get a PG, such as Brevin Knight who has been rumoured, this team could be in for another deep run. I just think that we're 1 impact player short on the bench though.

I know they used to cop a ton of criticism, the reason why I’m not sure. I haven’t seen them play a great deal so I can’t really comment, but judging by their statistics they seemed to be much improved players.

Game day thread. I really enjoy the GDT’s and I prefer them to a chat room. And plus the match threads can go for 100+ pages during the playoffs, you can’t beat that.
