Triple OT loss to the Knicks last night. Hamilton had a career high 51 points but it wasn't enough. Billups was terrible in the extra periods and basically lost the game for Detroit. Oh and mannysBETTER3434, Delfino was huge with 16 points and was the reason the game went to OT at all.

Kindl registered an assist but was -2 in the Czech Republic's loss to Russia.

Ericsson had 3 assists tonight in the Griffins 4-3 loss. He now has 16 points in 30 games. You’ve got to be excited about this guy, at 6-5 and with 58 PIM’s for the season he is exactly what we need.

27 point rout of the Hawks today. The bench was awesome once again, and not one starter played more than 28 minutes. The bench contributed 41 points, 16 rebounds, 12 assists, 8 blocks and 4 steals. Jason Maxiell had 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 blocks. Delfino with another nice all around game too.

Another great performance today, absolutely smashed the Cavs. The bench was a big factor in the win again; Maxiell was awesome as was McDyess. I just hope Saunders keep the faith in the bench.

Yeh Maxiell has to play; it’s as simple as that. The last two games have been very pleasing as we’ve really had a good look at our bench. Blalock has been getting good minutes as Hunter has been out. Personally I don’t see what Hunter brings to the table anymore, sure he’s still decent on the defensive end but when he’s in the offence grinds to a halt. Also good to see Delfino getting minutes lately and Davis and Maxiell have combined to be a force off the bench. I hope it continues when Sheed returns.

Howard is enjoying a stretch similar to that earlier in the year when he won the AHL Goaltender of the Month. He saved 33 of 34 shots today and was named the 1st Star.

Big game from Howard tonight! Saved 39 of 40 shots and was named the 1st Star. He is 5-1-1 in his last 7 starts.

The Pistons lose to Charlotte and now Portland, how pathetic. Flip Saunders is an absolute joke and I cannot understand why they haven't sent him packing by now. He will run this team into the ground, not just now but for the future. Another good first half by Delfino today and he saw no minutes in the second half. When he is traded I wish him all the best as he deserves to play.

HOT: Forward Igor Grigorenko (Togliatti, Russian Elite League) scored twice, doubling his previous season output ... So in 23 games he now has 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points and 49 PIM's. He has 4 points in his last 3 games.

Anyone notice than Howard has been really impressive since Liv was sent down? He saved 28 of 29 shots today, 26 of 28 yesterday, and 38 of 40 shots the previous game. His record over the last 5 games is 4-0-1.

Good move? I doubt it, because you know that if he were on the Pistons we would be a much better team. However we're on a great streak right now and Rasheed Wallace is taking some of the slack and is averaging a career high in rebounds. Good to see Delfino play well again today, but I wish Saunders would actually give him decent minutes in the second half.

Awesome! That really is great news. Good to see Jan put in a good performance for him to see as he had 2 assists. Really encouraging that Yzerman seems to think he will be a good NHL player and appears that he’s not too far away from making the NHL. And I can’t wait to see him out on the ice, he must be an amazing skater.

Jimmy Howard saved 38 of 40 shots tonight. Grand Rapids lost 3-2 in the SO but he was awarded the 3rd Star.

Emmerton paces OHL to win against Russians There may have been several new faces on the home squad, but it was business as usual for Team OHL as they shutout the Russian Selects 5-0 in the first Ontario game of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge on Thursday in Sarnia. Cory Emmerton of the Kingston Frontenacs scored a pair of second period goals to pace the OHL’s offence. He is one of several OHL stars looking for an invitation to Canada’s final selection camp for the World Junior Championships. “There are a lot of eyes watching – all the scouts and all the Team Canada people,†said the Detroit Red Wings’ prospect, who wasn’t invited to the summer evaluation camp but is looking to use his performance in this series to earn a ticket to Calgary in December. “It’s just important to play your best but (still) play the team game.†Emmerton scored early in the second period and again on the powerplay later in the frame.

Considering that Kindl almost made the Wings this season, what are the chances of him making the roster next season? Or do you think they’ll let him develop further in the AHL? Anyway Jakub has 24 points in 23 games this season. He is also +8 and has 60 PIM’s. He appears to be having a good season but I would love to hear from those that have seen him play.
