Great game from Jakub today. He had 2 assists, was +3 (despite opposition scoring 4 goals in regulation) and had 4 PIM's.
-
Excellent, very good to hear. Lets hope he keeps it up.

In 7 games Emmerton has 6 goals, 9 assists for a total of 15 points. He is 6th in the OHL scoring race.
-
The Griffins won 4-2, on the back of Jimmy Howard's stellar performance. He saved 33 of 35 shots, and was awarded the 1st Star.
-
Liv starting in net tonight, over Howard. Seems a little strange...

I watched the game yesterday, the first game of Baseball I've ever seen. Kenny Rogers was extremely impressive, but one question, why couldn't he pitch again today?
-
Well done on a great tournament Roddick, but this is getting ridiculous. Nadal is the only one who can beat Federer, but he never stays around long enough to play him. Argh!
-
Thanks. Yeh it was disappointing, I expected a close match and considering Hewitt’s 6-2 record against Roddick I thought he was have fared a little better. But I have to agree, this is the best I’ve seen Roddick play. I watched the Cincinnati event a few weeks back and he played brilliant, and his form has carried on to the US Open. He really is playing scintillating tennis and he could be a big chance to knock off Federer, of course he just needs to get past Youzhny first.
-
Hope Hewitt has something to say about Roddick's tournament...
-
Well, it's all over. We will miss you Andre, you are an absolute legend.

Anyone watch the Agassi/Baghdatis match? One of the best matches I have seen; it amazes me how the 36 year old Agassi just keeps on keeping on while Baggy could barely walk due to cramp. What a legend.
-
Well I’m actually going to go out on a limb here and say Roddick will win. He’s in brilliant form, just coming off a long overdue Masters title and he looked extremely impressive yesterday. With Jimmy Connors coaching him he seems to have a much more complete game, he’s playing patient and rarely making any errors. Yesterday he only had a dozen or so errors for the first two sets, remarkable tennis. For the women’s I think Sharapova will win her 2nd Grand Slam. She has a very, very easy draw and if she’s on her game she should go all the way.

Another American about to win Tour de France

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Cycling is a farce. -
What's that old dud still doing on our list. Dump him.

This is why Cycling is an absolute farce. So many athletes just cannot be trusted. -
IMO our mindset won't change too much. At this stage they're all saying our focus is shifting to offence, but I can't see too much of a difference. Mohammed was brought here mainly for defensive purposes and while Murray is a good addition to our bench, I can't see us becoming an offensive powerhouse. I do like the look of our bench though. McDyess will continue to be 10/5; Murray should be able to contribute 10pts a game. Delfino should finally be able to show us his potential while backing up Prince. Maxiell was great in the Summer League and could be useful, and then there is energy that will come from Hunter and Dupree.
-
"With the signing of Dupree, the Pistons' roster is just about set. Chauncey Billups and Lindsey Hunter will man the point, with Richard Hamilton and Flip Murray at shooting guard. Murray will play some at point guard and Delfino could see some action at shooting guard. Prince, Delfino and Dupree are at small forward. Rasheed Wallace, Nazr Mohammed, Antonio McDyess, Jason Maxiell and Dale Davis make up the front-court rotation." So it's looking like this: PG: Billups SG: Hamilton SF: Prince PF: Wallace C: Mohammed 1: McDyess 2: Murray 3: Delfino 4. Maxiell 5. Hunter 6. Dupree +: Acker, Johnson, Davis.

Just before I discuss Wimbledon, Andre Agassi has announced that he will retire later this year: Andre Agassi will retire after this year's U.S. Open, leaving tennis after two decades during which he collected a career Grand Slam. The 36-year-old American announced his plans Saturday during a news conference at the All England Club, where Wimbledon starts Monday and he is seeded 25th. "It's been a long road this year for me, and for a lot of reasons. It's great to be here. This Wimbledon will be my last, and the U.S. Open will be my last tournament." He intends to play in four hard-court events in the United States between Wimbledon and the Open, in what will amount to a farewell tour for one of the most popular and successful tennis players in history. Agassi has won eight major singles titles - one each at Wimbledon and the French Open, two at the U.S. Open and four at the Australian Open - and is one of only five men to have collected at least one championship at each of the Grand Slam tournaments. __________________________________ Have to say that he has been one of my favourite players, just a true gentleman and one of the most talented players I have ever seen. Will be sad to see him depart as I was looking forward to seeing him at the Australian Open next year. It’s good that he’ll be able to finish at his home Slam though. Well done on a great career Andre! Well arguably the most prestigious Tennis tournament of the year is only a few days away. The Championships commence Monday and I'm expecting big things this year. Lleyton Hewitt is in terrific form after winning his 4th Queens title, and has escaped Federer in his half of the draw. I think he could go all the way again this year. Sharapova has a good draw and if she’s recovered from her ankle injury she could be victorious.

I'm off to London and Paris for two weeks. Take care, don't stress too much about the Wings signing Belfour and Shanny.
-
Agree, I want both to lose as I cannot stand either player. For the third time of the year, the Grand Slam Final is a complete flop.
-
So the man everyone thought would give Federer a challenge, No.7 seed Mario Ancic, was destroyed in straight sets by who else, Roger Federer. Getting mighty predictable. And it looks as though Hewitt is going to be defeated by Baghdatis.
-
And $48 million couldn't do that Ben?
-
Oh my gosh, you have got to be joking! This could quite possibly be the most absurd thing I've ever read. $4 million for someone who doesn't turn up in the Playoffs, unbelievable.
-
Nazr Mohammed? He's a good defender, very good rebounder, but this is a little too expensive. Ah well, we're desperate now.
-
Just wait. He’s got Pistons DNA.
