They don't play in the post enough, too many three point attempts as you said. I taped plenty of games back in 2003/04, and we always drove the lane, pretty much everyone bar Billups attempted most of their shots in the paint. Now it’s all about outside shots, and we are suffering from this mentality. I know our ppg may be up, but I’m sure we don’t send as much fear to opposition teams as we previously did. Look at the stats, we always get smashed in points in the paint, and out rebounded. I’m a little worried.

Does anyone have any fantasy teams? I'm making an AFL team (Australia's No.1 sport), and I'm stressing so badly over this team. It's 3am and I'm just sitting here thinking about what I should do to my team.

Delk has been a great addition to our bench; he’s really added another scoring option we desperately needed. He’s scored 32 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists in the last two games, and perhaps the most promising stat is that he hasn’t committed one turnover since he’s been in Detroit. I couldn’t be more pleased with Delk’s start with the Pistons. Now it wouldn’t be the same without a little concern. Why has Maurice Evans being played over Delfino? I don’t see why because Delfino is a much better player, he has the potential to be a very good NBA player. Evans adds tenacity when he plays, but he isn’t good for much else. Doesn’t add much offence and struggles to defend. IMO Delfino adds much more when he plays, and Saunders is wasting his talent.

I love your positive attitude, but I think it’s gone a little too far. Saying Detroit can shut down teams when they want to, now if that’s the case, why don’t they want to every game? They must lack a little motivation to allow Washington to score 92 at three quarter time. I'm not a bandwagon supporter; we've been through this before. I’m just concerned about our form right now, and I simply point out issues I feel are needed to discuss. I don’t see what is so wrong with that?

Detroit are very ordinary right now, and that’s probably being kind. They lost to Washington 110-92, an 18 point hiding. They allowed 10 straight points to begin the second half, we then came back by scoring 8 unanswered, but then they scored 9 without reply. Our defense is non-existent; we can no longer shut down teams like we did in previous years. And Flip’s “new� offence is grinding to a halt; we’ve scored above 100 points once in the last 19 games. What is happening with Ben Wallace? Only 4 rebounds today, 5 a few days ago. I’m sorry but I’m a little uncertain about our chances in the playoffs because I don’t trust Flip. I don’t think he can lead us to the Championship. The way we're heading home court advantage won't be ours for much longer.

How accurate is that though? I know Crosby can make these dazzling moves and passes, but he has 40 assists in 62 games, whereas Ovechkin, who is noted mainly for his scoring, has 37 assists in 60 games. Not a lot of difference. All you hear about is Crosby’s ability to set up teammates, but statistics suggest Ovechkin is just as good.

Thanks, some awesome stats there, very interesting reading. As for the poll, I would take Ovechkin. If I had a choice to watch one player, other than any of the Wings, I would take Ovechkin. I've only seen a few of his games, but I was in awe of his ability. He is the complete package, he can do it all. He’s one of the fastest skaters in the league, he can deliver huge hits, he’s got one of the most powerful and accurate shots in the league. He is only 1 goal behind leading the entire league in goals, in his first season! And perhaps the best aspect to his game is the responsibility he shows in his own end. Washington are a terrible team, they’re extremely poor defensively, but he’s +1 for the season. This clearly shows he’s not only focused on scoring, but taking care of business at the other end. What an unbelievable talent.

We gave away a 4th round draft pick for Cross? "You know how I feel about giving". Nah but in all honesty, his stats aren't too bad, he is capable of putting up a few points, and he has some high PIM numbers during his career which may indicate that he's willing to fight and stand up for his teammates. I don't really see the point to this trade though, because he offers virtually what Rivers did.

Just a quick note, Detroit has gone 17 games without scoring 100 points. Not only has our defense been faltering lately, our offence has been well below what it was at the start of the season.
