I'm sorry but we are no longer the best team in the league, that belongs to either Dallas or San Antonio. The whole season we've been leading the race for home court advantage and now our lead is basically non existent. We lost again to the Lakers today, we were up by 13 points late in the third quarter and we then allowed the Lakers on a 18-0 run. Rebounding once again a worry, we were outrebounded 44-30. That's another game of complete domination by our opponent on the boards. Ben Wallace with 5 rebounds, and people made the point that he looked tired from the beginning of the game, yet Saunders persisted with him right until the end. Not even one minute of court time by Dale Davis. Tayshaun Prince continues his horrible stretch, it’s got to the point where he shouldn’t even be starting, but even if he is he shouldn’t be playing any more than about 32 minutes. His offensive game is gone and he struggles to defend anymore. He came back into the game with about five minutes left and missed three consecutive shots. Rasheed started the game on fire, hitting his first six shots, including 3-3 threes. However as the game went on he kept firing, and kept missing, and he missed 10 of his last 11 shots. Probably the only good sign to come from the game was Tony Delk, who checked into the game in the last quarter and hit a three, had 5 points and two rebounds in 6 minutes.

A few comment regarding the Pistons. I think we’re playing far from our best right now; we’ve had a pretty strenuous schedule, playing something like 7 games in 10 days. I’m really worried about Tayshaun Prince; he’s averaged less than 9 points per game over the last 10 games at less than 30%. That’s a horrendous stretch; he needs to regain his form because he is vital to our chances. From all reports his defense has been a little down as well, so I don’t know what the reason behind his struggles are. Rasheed Wallace is going overboard with the three point attempt, he took 13 last night. That’s inexcusable; he should be playing in the paint, not constantly taking threes. McDyess was playing well last night; he scored 10 points on 4-5 shooting, and he should have received more substantial playing time. Tony Delk made his first appearance last night, and I think he did reasonably well. He came in at the end of the first quarter, continued in the second and he assisted on two consecutive jumpers from Dice. He then made a layup. So definitely some good signs. And I know it sounds as though I'm always negative, but I just thought I would share my thoughts and see what you think.

Darko is good, Darko is very good. Some called him a dud and pathetic, but I knew all along he was going to be a star. And it makes me sad to think what could have been. Thanks Larry Brown. Just his impact on the Magic. Whenever he's in the game, they make runs and improve. Today he scored 12 points on 6-7 shooting, had 9 rebounds including 4 offensive, and had 2 blocks and 2 assists. And remember he's still only 20, it's no wonder the Pistons took him so highly, he is without doubt an extremely talented player. I just wish Rick Carlisle had the oppertunity to coach Darko, because he's not afraid to play rookies, whereas Brown destroyed him because he just didn't ever want to play him. What a wasted oppertunity for the Pistons.

Game over, lost by 11. Awful game today, we were outrebounded 59 to 35, they had 22 offensive rebounds to our 8. Marcus Camby 20 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots, basically all on Hamilton. Just a pathetic performance by the Pistons. And I'd like to know the last time Prince actually had a good game, it's been a heck of a long time now.

I saw the footage of the incident that led to Rasheed getting the technical. He got bumped by Ilgauskas, and then was laughing. Then the officials gave Rasheed a tech, for laughing? And I love Sheed's reaction, he said, "You're giving me a technical for laughing"? Pretty ridiculous.

Delk's coming to Motown The Pistons are going to sign Tony Delk sometime tomorrow morning. The 6-2 guard cleared waivers about 15 minutes ago, making him eligible to sign with any team he wants to. The 32-year-old isn't expected to play much for Detroit, but in case Chauncey Billups or Lindsey Hunter suffers an injury, Detroit now has a veteran they know that can come in and do a decent job. Obviously, Delk isn't going to be a player that's going to make a major impact on this team. But his presence shows that Joe D., to his credit, continues to cover all the bases in case things don't go as planned. And Delk, to his credit, understands he's walking into a situation where minutes are not going to be there early on, and they may not come at all. But a chance to win a title, at this stage of his career, was obviously an opportunity he felt was too good to pass up. Stay tuned for more info to come ... Link

Well the end of a very interesting game. The Pistons beat the Bulls 95-87. Hamilton got ejected; Sheed who shot 1-13 got a technical, his 14th, and Ben Wallace also got one. Tempers were running wild. The main story to come from the game was our bench. McDyess shot 8-10 for 16 points, Evans 5-8 for 15, and Delfino 2-2 for 5. Great production from our bench who really gave us a boost tonight.

Ah well that’s disappointing to hear mate. But hey I’m sure you’ll find a job in no time, and one that you actually like! There’s nothing worse than being stuck in a job that you don’t like, makes your life pretty depressing at times. Good luck!

    Jakub Kindl

Kindl just registered his 50th point of the season, in 49 games. He has 11 goals and 39 assists, is +3 and has 88 PIM's. Very good season for Jakub.

After everyone raved about Delfino’s performance on Carter, he played 8 minutes tonight, while Evans played 15. Billups and Ben Wallace played about 42 minutes each, even though a win was guaranteed during the entire 4th quarter. We were up 15 with 5 minutes to play, and a time out is called. However, the starters continue to play. Another time out with 3 minutes left, up 12, and still no sign of the bench. Ridiculous. Acker played the final minute of the game, so he didn't have a chance.

Can someone please explain to me why we signed Dale Davis? When we first signed him I thought he was expected to assist this Pistons team through a variety of ways. Firstly, he was expected to provide some excellent defense. We all know his strength is defending, so why aren’t we exploiting this? Secondly, he was trusted upon to give the starters some extremely valuable rest. But considering he’s played just over 50 minutes for the entire season, I’m not exactly sure he’s given the starters too much relief. It was only last season for the Pacers when he was their centre, and he was averaging 7points and 9 rebounds per game in about 29 minutes. Now it’s not as though he aged 10 years during the off season, he’s still able to contribute when given the time. He wasn’t signed to provide offence, but valuable defense and rest. However due to the treatment he’s received, he’s been a poor man’s Elden Campbell. Surely we should start seeing a little more of this useful veteran?

I read one sentence that really put the entire trade into perspective. “Our future is signing big Ben and Chauncey, as long as these five are together they are going to be in contention every year. Such an accurate statement, because when you think about it, these 5 players are all brilliant, the chemistry between them is amazing. Imagine keeping the core intact each year for as long as we have the chance to, it’s quite amazing. They will make us contenders every year, and we’ll always be a threat. Trading Darko wasn’t throwing away the future, trading him was maintaining the future. It’s all about perspective.
