Brad Stuart is paid a similar amount (can't be stuffed doing any research...) so if Ericsson can become a similar player, then his contract wouldn't look so bad. We need him to be physical, to become a very solid PK'er, and when needed, to eat up 22-24 minutes a night. Like Stuart, he won't ever be a big point producer in this league, so if he could hit 20-25 points while providing strong, consistent defence, I'd be satisfied.

I seemed to pick a loooooooot of home teams...

Mrazek is a very good prospect. I just hope his pro career starts off better than McCollum.

I get more excited about this kid by the day. He's massive, he skates well, he's good defensively, at worst I see him being a 4th line, shutdown centre in the NHL. At best he's a 2nd line centre who is very tough to score against when his line is on the ice. I think he does have good hands, and he does drive to the net, I think his offensve game will take a long time to develop, but when it does, watch out.

Pittsburgh's PK is ridiculously good.

Who, mindfly or MZA?

Congrats ricky0034! Thanks DB for the charts! I'll gladly take 11 in a week where everyone struggled.
-
It's not him, it's one of those stupid face alteration things.

Goaltending and defence will continue to be a problem, I see. Glad to see Nyquist and Tatar score. Disappointed that Aubry was a healthy scratch already, I really don't see the point in keeping him up if he's going to be a healthy scratch every second game. Back to juniors. And this team will be much better when Smith returns so Ehrhardt sits.

GAME 3 Sunday October 16th, 6:05pm CST Grand Rapids Griffins (1-1-0-0) @ Rochester Americans (1-2-0-0) Preview: The Griffins hit the road to take on the Rochester Americans. It will mark the start of their grueling 8 day road trip in which they will play 6 games. The Griffins claimed their first points of the season by defeating Toronto 3-2 on Friday. The Amerks have made a rough start to the season conceding 11 goals in just three games so the Griffins perhaps catch them at a good time. Griffins coach Curt Fraser has been impressed with his young squad, highlighting the strong performance of all 4 lines, as well as the outstanding goaltending of Joey MacDonald. After being the reserve for the first two games, Jordan Pearce may get the start tonight. Line-up: Nyquist – Andersson – Conner Tatar – Johnson – Pare Coetzee – Raedeke – Parkes Ferraro – Aubry – Callahan (Estoclet) Janik - Ehrhardt Exelby – Lashoff Pyett – Amadio (Piche) MacDonald Pearce Team leaders: Goals: Coetzee (2), 3 tied (1) Assists: Conner (3), Nyquist (2) Point: Conner, Nyquist (3), Coetzee (2) PIMS: Amadio (11), Callahan (10) Plus/Minus: 6 tied (+1) Streaks: • Willie Coetzee: 2 game goal streak • Gustav Nyquist: 2 game point streak (1-2-3) • Chris Conner: 2 game point streak (0-3-3) Media: AHL Gamecentre drumnj's profile for stream

Still a fair way away, a lot will happen, but I wonder who gets waived/traded when Mursak returns.

Goal and an assist for Sproul last night. So in 10 games this season he has 2+7=9, to go with a +4 rating. Couldn't be happier about drafting this guy, I think he's going to great for us.
-
What a start to the season for Jakub. 2 assists and +6 in 4 games, and this quote from Babcock tonight: And who could forget this impressive hit in the opener? Keep it up!
-
Incredible start by him. He has 11 points, but he's also a -5. I didn't expect his current statline.
-
Flip and Huds have always played well together, I'm confused as to why Babs didn't try them together more often last season when Huds was clearly struggling.

Possible line-up: Nyquist – Andersson – Conner Tatar – Johnson – Pare Coetzee – Raedeke – Callahan Ferraro – Aubry – Parkes Janik - Ehrhardt Exelby – Lashoff Pyett – Amadio (Piche) MacDonald Pearce Team leaders: Goals: Coetzee, Johnson (1) Assists: Conner, Ferraro, Nyquist, Tatar (1) PIMS: Callahan, Amadio (5) Plus/Minus: 14 tied (E) Media: AHL gamecentre drumnj's profile for stream

Agree 100% with this. I know it’s the case with virtually every scoring winger in the NHL, but I think Franzen more often than others, needs great centers to be effective, without them he seems to float around doing very little. He seems to be over reliant on Hank and Flip ect feeding him perfect plays. He’s a dominant force when he’s on and when he wants to be, but what’s stopping him from being truly elite is his work ethic, if he brought it every single night he’s be almost unstoppable.

I find it a bit strange that Eaves is going to be a healthy scratch for a third game out of 4. I get that we're deep, and we're winning, but the guy is a darn good player. He just re-signed for 3 years at $1.2mil per, and he can't even crack the line-up. Strange. I'd sit Homer in a second to get Patty in.
-
I cannot believe I drafted this guy into my fantasy team, unreal.
-
Griffins hold on to win 3-2. Good performance, they worked hard, and had a key 5-on-3 PK in the second. Nyquist a G+A, Coetzee another goal, Parkes and Andersson with assists. It's gonna be fun watching Gus play!
-
He's got two points now. G, 2A in 2 games. He's so, so skilled, had a few shifts where he put on a show tonight.
-
Gustav scores with a couple of seconds left in the period, Griffins up 2-1 after one.
-
Gustav scores a few seconds away from the 1st intermission.
-
Willie Coetzee!!! Ties it up for GR.
