How hot is Ana Ivanovic! Ivanovic > Kournikova
-
Most would already know, but Kindl is back playing for the Kitchener Rangers and has recorded 1 goal in his 2 games back. Hopefully he learnt from the WJC and has come back as an improved player.
-
So they were prepared to take a gamble and bring him over, I like their thinking
-
Carlos Arroyo got ejected and will miss one game through suspension. I guess this will please dallas27

Well I’m pretty annoyed, Marat Safin, Rafael Nadal and Andre Agassi have all withdrawn, and Carlos Moya is in doubt. On the women’s side, Alicia Molik isn’t playing and Nadia Petrova is also doubtful. Would any more players like to be in doubt? Well I think everyone should be well aware of Ana Ivanovic now, she defeated World No.3 Mauresmo yesterday and looms as a real threat for the Open.

Haha yes I agree, I get them confused too. Oh and J-Swift: Sort hair > Long hair
-
Well I tell you what does suck, Billups and Ben already showing signs that they are suffering from fatigue. Flip must use our bench more, and that means more Dale Davis. I want to see him have a major increase in court time.
-
Great to see Filppula doing well after he was sent back from the Wings. I'm still annoyed over how much game time he got, but by the looks of things he's only seen his stay as a positive.

"Defenseman Jakub Kindl of the Kitchener Rangers is representing the Czech Republic at the WJC. He has an assist and a plus-5 in four games. " So sounds exactly like Lilja then, poor defensively but got a great +/-?
-
"Martina Hingis faces her first major test since announcing her comeback to professional tennis after being drawn to play Justine Henin-Hardenne in the first round of the Sydney International." What an awesome match it promises to be, just the start of the road to the Australian Open. Other news around the globe is that Roger Federer has reached yet another final (suprise, suprise) and is up against 19 year-old Gael Monfils in the Qatar Open.

You seem to think he is a liability on the defensive end. Well has he recorded any points in the tournament? He's well over 6 foot, and for someone so young that can be difficult so we need to give him plenty of time so he can fill into his body.

Billups scored a career high 37 points, while adding 9 assists. And only 1 TO. I was also impressed with Carlos Delfino, 7 points and 2 offensive rebounds in just over 13 minutes. But Flip seriously has trust issues with our bench.
-
Good signs "Freshman Justin Abdelkader, who was selected by the Red Wings in the second-round of June's NHL Entry Draft, had his first multiple-point game (a goal and an assist) for the Spartans. Abdelkader assisted on Tim Crowder's goal to give the Spartans a 1-0, first-period lead. He scored with 9:56 left in regulation to draw the Spartans even."

Thought you could all do with a laugh? According to TSN: C.Billups- Flaws/Career potential: Billups is not much of a defender or rebounder and needs to take better care of the basketball. Has finally settled into the role of a starting point guard and should remain there for another year or two. Billups is only 29, what is going to stop him from being a started for another 5+ years? Plus I think he is quite a good defender. R. Hamilton- Flaws: Can be prone to taking too many three-pointers. Since when does Rip take too many 3's? He barely takes them, he would be averaging about 1 or 2 a game.

I doubt Marc Lamothe would even get us a 9th round draft choice and I don't even know if we even have him under contract anymore?
-
Pistons win again, and the Spurs lose! 20-3!!
-
Gooo Lilja!
-
What about his performance tonight? 30 points, 9 assists, 0 turnovers.
-
Billups for MVP!
-
Yeh that's not a bad idea, it may be the only way to solve this situation. Guarantee him time and see if he performs. If he does, we know it’s just that his attitude stinks, and if he doesn’t he’s obviously not ready.

Really? How is it? I'm going to get a PS3.

Very interesting read. Passive Milicic earns more time on bench "I noticed the same thing you noticed," coach Flip Saunders said, when asked about Milicic's 2-point, 2-rebound performance. "I told him and I have told all of our players -- nothing is given. You earn your minutes. You earn what you get. What we're going to do is put guys on the floor that are going to compete on a daily basis." "Sometimes, in this league, it's about being mentally tough," Saunders said. "Things aren't always going to go as you want them to go. What you have to do is battle through those times. Darko is no different that anybody else." "He's only 20 years old but sooner or later age isn't going to be an excuse," Saunders said. Milicic I feel the end of Darko in Detroit is near.

Detroit 103 Charlotte 78 No one played more than 34 minutes. Prince, Rasheed and Hamilton all played under 30 minutes which is good to see. Some good signs regarding the bench. McDyess (4-6) & Evans (4-7) combined for 20 points. Once again Carlos Delfino played more than Arroyo, and he was pretty solid. 19 minutes, 8 pts (4-7), 4 rbs, 2 assists and he also had a monster dunk. Darko had a dunk, and assist and a block in 3 minutes.

Pavel Datsyuk: 2004/05: 45 games, 15 goals, 17 assists, 32 points. Igor Grigorenko: 2005/06: 32 games, 10 goals, 15 assists, 25 points. I know Datsyuk was playing against a stronger field of players, but Grig's stats are still very encouraging. Looking back at Grigorenko's stats before his accident, he produced almost identical stats to that of Datsyuk, while at the age of 20. There is no doubt he would already be playing in the NHL and be putting up solid numbers. However he was very lucky even to survive, and it's great that he is showing the signs that had him rated as the NHL's ninth-best prospect back in 2002/03. I think Grigorenko will play on the second line next season and put up some pretty solid numbers.
