Boy I wish we still had Mehmet Okur. If only he wasn’t so money hungry he could have helped us win another championship last season.
-
Kindl has13 points in 5 games, that is quite impressive for anyone, let alone for an 18 year old defenseman. Definitely an exciting prospect, he has the size, skills and the offensive presence to be excellent NHL player.
-
Well he only recently turned 18 so it appears he is coming along very nicely. I don't think we could have expected a better start to the season. Even the highly touted Marc Staal hasn't put up as many points.
-
Kindl must be a monster on the PP, maybe when Lidstrom retires he could be his replacement? He has already registered a point tonight, which means he has 30 points in 26 games.
-
Everyone knows how I feel on the matter
-
So any others out there who saw the Pistons game? I would love more feedback because it was the first game I've seen all season and I was disappointed.
-
About half and half. Started off pretty much all boos, then more cheers came.

I was not impressed by tonight’s performance at all. We had one good quarter, and got outplayed for the other three. Rip was great as was Prince and Ben wasn’t too bad, however I don’t see him blocking any shots or stealing the ball as much as he used to. Billups got lazy in the final quarter, turning the ball over far too often but for the majoirty he was great. Now I don’t know what the problem is with Rasheed Wallace. I would be tempted to have him coming off the bench him for the next few games, as he is enduring a terrible period right now. He was careless out there, it looked as though he wasn’t even trying. His passing was insipid at best and he only took 3 shots for the entire game. I feel that McDyess is a better option at this stage.

Much, much better quarter. We outscored them 24-8. Rip is a monster, he's already scored 30+ points, and Prince does anything he pleases. The only negative is the lack of influence by Rasheed Wallace. He hasn't done a thing out there. And Carlos Arroyo is hopeless, he can't run the game, he takes out the life in the offense. I want to see more Darko in the 4th.

Half time, 59-59. First game of the season I've seen and I'm not too impressed. Hamilton is on fire, as he has been all season. Billups has 8 assists, he is one of the smartest players in the game. He just knows how to find the open man. Prince looks like a different player, he is extremely impressive. He is a very good rebounder, especially on the offensive end, and he is now very solid on driving to the hoop. Darko Milicic, well I'm not too impressed. He is not solid enough to defend any large forwards, they breeze past him. He grabbed one offensive rebound, which was good to see, but for the majority of the game he doesn't get into good enough positions to get the boards. He is not confident enough to shoot ball, and he often rushes the passes and causes turnovers. Let's hope we have a better second half.

The Pistons-Knicks game is on ESPN in Australia! The first game of Detroit I have seen all season.
-
I we have many prospects, "maturing and becoming players", why would you suggest that we trade them at the deadline?
-
IF YOUR WHERE OFFERED THIS TRADE WOULD YOU TAKE IT

Datsyuk is my favourite player; he is the future of this team. Staal is already one of the leaders in the NHL in scoring at the age of 21. Of course you would do this trade, but the heart says no. -
Dylan Hunter, LW, London Knights - Drafted by Buffalo in the ninth round in 2004, Hunter has become an elite playmaker in the OHL, with 33 assists and 45 points in 19 games for the powerhouse Knights.
-
Very true, he will probably be brought along a little quicker now. He recorded 2 assists tonight, and now has 25 points in 23 games.
-
I just would not trade him.
-
Did Harrington get the blame? From what I saw I thought he did quite ok, he made some excellent passes and as you said, no one could catch or make any plays for him.
-
Just like I didn't enjoy the first game of NFL I have ever seen! Wasted sleeping hours on them.
-
Well thanks Lions, you made me lose a lot of sleep Here’s my tale. It was 4:00 am and I turned on the game. I had never seen a game of NFL in my life. I’ve never really understood the sport so I’ve always given it an unfair stick but as Detroit were on I thought I would give it a go. I can’t understand some of the aspects of the game, but I am willing to learn. This is my perception of the game, keeping in mind that I didn’t watch it all and I had pretty much no idea what was going on! From what I saw, I thought the Lions defense was quite good. They blocked many attempts by the opposition. However when it came their turn on offence, they continuously stuffed it up. I thought the much maligned Joey Harrington was reasonably solid, he made some excellent passes. However the main problem was that there was never anyone for him to pass it to. The offence looked stagnant. Another major problem was their inability to keep possession, they turned it over far too often. So there we have it, the first game of NFL I have ever seen.
-
OK will do. Let's just hope they put in a good performance, because I'm going to lose a lot of sleep over them!
-
I have never seen a game of NFL and the Lions are on Foxtel tomorrow. Should I watch it?
-
That's for sure, up by 27 points in the third quarter. We want Darko!
-
Couldn't agree more. I would do that trade in a second.
-
I would

I think he is a good player too. Those quotes were taken from The Detroit News forums, and I can tell you that he is constantly getting rubbished over there.
