    Detroit Pistons Season Thread

According to ESPN's Play-by-Play, Richard Hamilton made 17 ft jumper. Assisted by Tayshaun Prince at 0:00. What happened? Did he make the shot with under a second left? And once again our bench does not get used despite all the promises, even McDyess barely got used, 12 minutes? Arroyo 12, Evans 11, Milicic only 4? Here we go again...

O'Neal leaves game after fall November 3, 2005 MIAMI (AP) -- Shaquille O'Neal sprained his right ankle in the fourth quarter of the Miami Heat's 105-102 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night. O'Neal landed awkwardly while jostling for a rebound. X-rays were negative. "He's probably going to miss some time, the way he was walking on it in there,'' Heat coach Stan Van Gundy said. O'Neal came down on Ron Artest's foot. He remained down for a few seconds, then limped off the court and into the locker room. He finished with 18 points and six rebounds. Bring on the excuses!

    Detroit Pistons Season Thread

I think Carlos Arroyo is really going to be the key for the Pistons this season. He was lost under Larry Brown last season because Brown hated his style of play. However Flip Saunders highly rates his quick style of movement and the energy he brings. He had 8 assists in 16 minutes, and was responsible for Detroit hitting 18 of its last 20 shots. Our bench sure has improved this season.

    Justin Abdelkader

"Michigan State was credited with 41 penalty minutes in the game, including a game disqualification of Spartans freshman Justin Abdelkader in the third period after a hit that left Pegoraro bloody and in need of stitches. Abdelkader was called for a 5-minute major and a 10-minute disqualification on a hit against Pegoraro that forced the senior to leave the ice for some stitches. A few minutes later, Pegoraro returned, wearing freshman Ryan Kindret's jersey, the other one too bloody." Sounds like just what we need

    Griffins Playing Very Well

According to HF: 'Kopecky has great size, power and skills. He is the only prospect who could translate into a future scoring power forward as the Wings lack these type of players in their system.' That's why everyone is fed up with him, because he has loads of potential yet he doesn't deliver.

    Jakub Kindl

Very well said TNBT. Kindl joined Kitchener last year and it was obvious he had a very rough transition. It must have been tough adjusting from playing in the Czech under-20 league to the quicker pace of the OHL. According to RWC, he was rated the top underage draft prospect in Europe, which is a great sign. He is getting more minutes this season, and his stats reflect this. This could be the season where he really makes a name for himself.

    Griffins Playing Very Well

Good to see Hudler impressing again, however Howard didn't have such a strong game tonight. And Kopecky scored again, maybe Holland will be right although I highly doubt it.

Shall we waive goodbye to Tomas Kopecky?

    Pistons preseason

Darko Milicic's pre-season stats: MPG- 21.3 FG%- .458 FT%- .700 RPG- 5.0 APG- 1.3 BPG- 3.50 PPG- 9.0 Every stat category is impressive, particularly blocks, and field-goal percentage. I believe he will be a very good player, and he is showing signs of being a machine on the defensive end!

    Pistons preseason

I agree I have been taking a little less interest in the Pistons recently, but I'm sure when the season starts I'll get into the basketball mode once more. Milicic 10 pts (4-5 FG), 9 rbs. This adds to his 4 blocks the previous game. Some good signs.

    Hudler vs. Filppula

Babcock= Brown Hudler= Milicic It's the same situation, regardless of how hard he works, he's never going to be 'good' enough.

    Hudler vs. Filppula

What I am saying is that he should be on the Wings right now, however at the same time he is still young and developing. But he has reached the stage where he is putting it all together and this should be rewarded.

    Hudler vs. Filppula

Hudler is only 21 years-old, and has proved that he can handle top notch competition as he did in the Czech league. Give him time and I am extremely confident that he will be a successful player for Detroit. I am sick of people putting his name up for trade. Why trade away someone young with enormous potential?

    Hudler vs. Filppula

If they rewarded Jiri Hudler with a spot on the Wings, I am positive he would be producing. He would realise he’s been given a tremendous opportunity to succeed at the highest level and would take full advantage of it. It would not have been a huge mistake to give him a spot; in fact it was a mistake leaving him off the team.

    Grigorenko

Grigorenko has 12 points in 12 games, Kovalchuk has 13 in 11 games. Very impressive by Grigs, he definately has reached the level he was prior to the accident.

    2005 NBA Power Rankings

Darko must get 15 minutes a game. No doubt about it, or else he will be gone next year, ending the biggest waste of a no.2 pick.

McGrath lighting the OHL on fire

Kindl 2 assists, takes his season tally up to 3 from 4 games. McGrath is just tearing the league apart, another 4 points today.

McGrath lighting the OHL on fire

Exactly, and he was playing in the OHL at the age of 17, so surely scouts couldn’t have expected him to excel last season. He was +1 today, and had 6 PIM's. How much weaker is the OHL to the AHL, i.e. how reflective is this form?
