Yep, although he lost the fight, he handled himself pretty well, encouraging to see. Love this guy's upside. Another 2 years in the OHL, then to the AHL, then hopefully he's matured his game and body enough to be a Wing.

I'm going to keep saying it, Kindl will have a very good season and at seasons end will be a superior player than Ericsson. The kid's potential didn't disappear, he's still got great wheels/size/skill, just needs confidence. -
Can you imagine if both Jarnkrok and Pulkkinen reach their potential. Wowza!!

When Mursak returns, chances are we will have another injury (lets be honest, it's us...), but if we don't, we'll probably have to waive one of Emmerton/Brunnstrom. But say if Emmerton's been okay, but not amazing, I figure we could maybe trade him for a 4th/5th round pick or somethihng. Trying to make positives out of Mursak's unfortunate injury.

Yep, he's off to a flying start, hopefully he can keep it up and put up great numbers.
-
I reckon you should start to be quiet about Ritola, since he's starting to really come on now that he's illness free.

Drew freaking Miller.

I feel like crying. I had a freaking awful day yesterday, I wake up at 6am to go to work, come home to eagerly check the score, and my freaking favoutire player has broken his ankle. I hate life.
-
Exactly. The really high point totals haven’t come, but he offers way more than just numbers. He’s such a good skater, great at puck possession, plays great defence, basically when he’s on the ice you know he’s going to play hard, and play ‘safe’ in that we’ll spend a lot time in their zone. To me he’s such a well-rounded player who can have an outstanding night and yet come away with no points. His numbers don’t tell the full picture as to the valuable player he is. And as you said, he always steps it up come the playoffs.

Agreed, he was a fierce competitor in the OHL, and he'd thrive on the attention. He hasn't been the same since his OHL days, but I was impressed by his play in the latter half of last season. He was starting to become more involved offensively by shooting the puck, and he was using his body along the boards more. I'm still confident he can become a solid 2nd pairing defenceman and 2nd unit PP guy. He's got the skill, skating and size to be a good defenceman in this league.

BTW, it won't happenn, but if it were up to me, I'd waive Miller and sign Brunnstrom. -

Ian White will post career high numbers this season, I'm sure of it. To me his game suits this organisation perfectly, and if he's playing with Lids for a significant portion of the season, he'll post good numbers. -
This is how it went for me. Saw thread title. Outraged. Read the little thread preview, knew then it was a joke, 'phew' and laughed. Then I saw who made the thread, and I had an even bigger laugh. Good times.

Oh man, how'd they tie it up? Well, because of James van Riemsdyk. 2G, A. Everyone kept dropping him in my keeper league last year, so I swooped, and now he's a rookie keeper and about to explode. -
Emmo He just joined I see.

Really? I'm surprised to read this, I thought he showed a ton of promise. Maybe I'm too high on Smith? I thought he looked good in last years pre-season too. -
Yeah man I know, what the heck was with that?? Why would they alter a classic jersey??

I'll make them short, because I realise I post too much and people won't bother! - Cleary was awesome, and should be on the top line this season. - Datsyuk is a marvel. - Mursak was great, love his speed and energy, and he is strong on the backcheck. - Brunnstrom's skating surprised me, very smooth, and he's bigger than I thought too. Very impressed. - Hudler looked good, and ready to go. - Smith's awfully close to the NHL. Going to be a big point producer in the NHL. - Emmerton seemed to get more comfortabe as the night wore on, after a slow start. -

No. Ritola was one of my favourite prospects. Emmerton is way down my list, but he does have upside but we won't see it until he gets used to the pace of the NHL, I'm just not sure we'll give him the time. -

Jamie Johnson, Griffins. Mursak is flying out there.
