Agreed. I guess Mursak, Emmerton, Andersson ect will all be in action for our next game, but to me they should be getting as many games as possible. Anyway, looking forward to the game, hopefully Kindl, Ritola and Lashoff all impress with strong games. -
Can I just say that Jan the Man Mursak is awesome!! Can't wait to see him in GR this season, if he's on a line with Tatar they could both explode.
-
I'm so glad I picked up Patrik Berglund on waivers.
-
I've been saying it to anyone who will listen, Pyett is a very underrated prospect. He impressed me big time last season for GR, and should be take even more steps this season, he's got an NHL career waiting to happen.
-
My link Apologies if this has been posted before, and apologies if no one cares, but here you go. I'm liking Kindl's swap to #4, and Tatar in Leino's #21.
-
Seriously, I love it when athletes get involved in stuff like this, great to see. As for Eaves, absolute gun, I love the guy!
-
Haha what a goal! I know it's incredibly early but it's looking like one heck of a 4th round pick. He's clearly still got that skill and that shot, improve his consistency and avoid injuries and do we have a promising prospect or what! I honestly haven't been this excited about a prospect since we drafted Kindl. Perhaps I shouldn't have said that.

Mursak, Tatar, Smith, Nyquist. The big 4.
-
Excellent news! Good to keep him around!
-
The OHL was never an option, it was either the Finnish Elite League or Kelowna Rockets of the WHL.
-
Wow, I never thought I'd see that written!
-
Smith is heading for GR, that's a certainty, while Landon Ferraro is heading back to the WHL regardless. I'm not sure on Zanetti and Archibald, of those two I'd say the latter might be headed for GR as he's played quite a few seasons in the juniors and might be ready to graduate.

I can't believe this. Salei, really Detroit?

Red Wings might opt to keep Ritola at the expense of Miller
Aussie_Wing replied to DSM's topic in General
Exceptional post Heaten, I could agree more. Ritola's numbers in Grand Rapids don't show how much of a talent he is and how well he played. He looked absolutely dominant at times with the Griffins, he would have shifts where he looked amazing and had the puck on a string. People also massively underestimate his physicality, I'm not saying he hits like Abdelkader, but he is definitely willing to throw in a check or two, if he sees a guy there to be hit, he won't hesitate. I think he's a poor man's Filppula. He's got exceptional puck skills, is a master at the takeaways, can play on both special teams and would fit our puck possession style perfectly. He has very nice upside, it'd kill me to see him lost just to keep Miller around for another season. -

Exactly my stance on the matter, well said. -
$1.75m? Awful, but I didn't expect anything less.
-
I'd be all for it. Eaves probably has the best shot on the team outside of Franzen, he can really unleash the power. Extremely underrated shot and if he stays healthy and saw a bit of PP time, I could see him netting close to 20.
-
So when he's done as a player, he comes to Detroit who welcome him wiht both arms. We fell in love with the idea of the past Modano, not the washed up one of 2010.
-
With Stephen Johnston getting a camp try-out, maybe we’ll see him with the Griffins after all! Here’s hoping anyway!
-
Great news! One of my favourite Wings back at a very reasonable salary, it's all good.
-
Stephen Johnston! Perform mate, show them your skill.
-
Kindl will be a pleasant surprise this season, I'm sure of it. I wouldn't bother signing a veteran 6th defenceman as Kindl will do a fine job and after about 15-20 games we'll know that we've got someone who is more than capable of being an NHL defenceman.

We can all agree that we dislike Perry, but I hope we can all agree he's a pretty awesome hockey player.
