Horton will be am amazing player on a stronger side, he's one of my favourite players in the league. I'd absolutely love for him to be a Wing, although it'll obviously never happen, at least not in the immediate future.

Seriously, if we sign Maltby, I'll be absolutely livid. What a complete joke. He's been great, for sure, and he's a top guy I'm sure, but WE DON'T HAVE ANY REASON TO KEEP HIM. We have enough bottom 6 forwards. Helm, Abdelkader, Eaves, Miller, Ritola, Draper, absolutely no sense in keeping Maltby around.

Looks like Ilari Filppula will be headed for GR. Takes care of our 1st line centre issue IMO. Rissmiller (?) - Filppula - Mursak Tatar - Andersson - Pare Owens - Emmerton - Coetzee Oulahen - Raedeke - Vigilante Love the Flip signing because I honestly think it'll provide a big boost to Jan and Tatar.

Love this signing, love it. He'll be given a chance to make the Wings roster but 90% chance that he'll be sent down to Grand Rapids who badly need some more skill. Playing alongisde say Tatar and Mursak would be a huge boost to those guys.

This, exactly. I didn't watch a single game this year, I think we got 1 or 2 Pistons games and even then I didn't even make an effort to watch them. The NBA is dead to me, I really couldn't care less. Not to mention the MILLION time outs over the past 2-3 minutes, there's a stoppage every 10 seconds. Totally ruins any sespense.

How good would that be? TBH I'm not sure what to make of Andersson, I've got no expectations of him for this upcoming season, so anything he produces will be encouraging. Seems like he's got a good attitude though which is good, and given he was often only receiving 10 mins per game in Sweden, he shouldn't have any troubles adapting with the Griffins where he'll likely get a bigger role. Can't wait to see Mursak again next season, hopefully he can continue to build on the platform he set this season.

Absolutely nothing wrong with his hands. Gee he is continously underrated. I can't wait until the day when Wings fans suddenly realise that we've got an elite talent in Mursak right on our doorstep. Mursak's speed + intensity + hands = gem.

Yep, listen to the guys above, they watch GR, they know what they're talking about. He clearly has skill, some nights he can look dominant, however it's his inconsistency that holds him back. If he can ever improve that aspect and play with intensity every night, then he's a chance to be an NHL forward. He has great hockey sense, he just reads the play very well and you'd think that'd lead to more offensive production but it just hasn't come. The problem is that there's nothing that truly stands out in his game; he's a decent skater, has a decent shot, decent defensively, but there's nothing that you could identify as certain NHL talent. He needs a big season, something like 20 goals, 50 odd points and if he doesn't he'll drift off the Red Wings scene. He needs to play hard every night because if he does, then he's a chance to become a 3rd/4th line forward.

I sure hope this is what we do. Miller is a solid player but we don't really need him, have more than enough bottom 6 forwards and PK's. Helm/Eaves Flip/Cleary With help from Dats, Hank and Draper if need be. I agree that if Ritola has a solid camp and plays well in the PS matches then I see us trading Miller.

How is $800k a high salary? Our drafting has been pretty mediocre of late. I know you can't pick up franchice players every draft, or once every 5 years even, but we certainly haven't drafted anny gems since D/Z and we've barely even drafted any 3rd line standard forwards. Our drafting of defencemen has been even worse, but Kindl and Smith are chances to be something.
