I actually don't mind Williams but I'd certainly prefer Abdelkader. Justin's going to be one of those playoff warriors, we could do with him. In fact, should've never taken him out of the line-up in last years SCF. Pumped that Mursak is a 'Black Ace', what a great young player!

After page after page of 'who is Ritola' and 'he has no toughness' when he was initally recalled, I thought it's only fitting now that he's been sent down to GRand Rapids we give him a bit of credit. He certainly didn't look out of place in the NHL and he's enhanced his reputation as having a future in this league. Didn't register any points but played strong every night; he was prepared to hit, he drove hard to the net, he had some beautiful moves that led to scoring chances and most importantly, he wasn't at all a defensive liability. Good job Mattias on your brief stint here, hopefully you're a full time Red Wing next season.

I've been saying it for a few years now, he's a poor man's Filppula. Very highly skilled, good size, quite resposible defensively, can play in all situations, and yet despite all that the points doing seem to come. In saying that, he's got 17 points in his past 22 games or something similar so they're starting to come. He's just a very solid all-round hockey player who should be a Wing next season and down the track I see him as a 20 point type player who is a good character guy.

I've been listening to WXYT's radio feed for the past 7 or 8 years. Almost every game, this is how I've had to follow the Wings. I'm not complaining, I love it. But for the game against the Oilers I went to listen just as I always do and the following came up: "We're sorry. CBS radio is unavailable from your current location". So that's it, after 8 years they're telling me I can no longer listen. I used to go through NHL.com to listen to the radio feed, then that option was taken away. So I then went to WXYT.com and listened to the game from there. Now that's been taken away from me. What the heck can I do? I don't watch streams very often because they're choppy and kill my internet usage, so the radio feed was the perfect option. Now it seems like that's no longer an option. What the heck can I do, surely there's a way to listen to Ken and Paul?

I'm trying to stay awake. SOMETHING REMOTELY EXCITING HAPPEN PLEASE.

In 2002/03, Datsyuk had 9 points in his first 23 games. He then got injured, missed some time, and came back with 3 points from 2 games before going pointless in 8 straight. He then exploded with 12 points from 11 games in February, 23 from 16 in March and 3/3 in April. Had a stretch where he picked up 15 points in 7 games. Safe to say he hasn't looked back since. He started to shoot more, the points came and during the latter stages of 2002/03, when Datsyuk was 24, we saw his obvious potential become a reality. In 2009/10, Filppula had 6 points in his first 11 games. Got injured, missed a ton of time, came back with 1 point in 4 games. Then he started to find form, 19 points in 28 games. He's now on a tear, 8 points in 3 games, the start of something similar to what Datsyuk began way back in 2002/03? I'm thinking there's a very similar pattern developing. Pavel Datsyuk: 2001-02 DET 70 11 24 35 2002-03 DET 64 12 39 51 (0.79 PPG) Valtteri Filppula: 2008-09 DET 80 12 28 40 2009-10 DET 46 11 23 34 (0.74 PPG) Now I'm not for one minute saying Flip will develop into the scoring machine Datsyuk is but I think we can at least recognise that the potential of Filppula IS extremely high. Just as long as he continues to believe in his own ability and shoot the puck more, we've got another big time scorer on our hands. What do you think?

I've been saying all season give Patrick a shot on a scoring line, I'd absolutely love to see him get a few shifts with Datsyuk. He's got an incredible shot, just needs to use it more. Having Dats set him up could be the thing that gets his shot going again. I mean his current role is fine, and he has 11 goals which is a very fine effort. I can't help but get the feeling he could do some serious damage with Datsyuk though. There's big upside in Eaves.

Surely you don't count a 4 game period a SEASON? I know it was Dats' 2nd and Flip's 4th, but some people take longer to get 'it' than others. In Flip's case he's taken a long time to figure out he needs to shoot the puck more and when his confidence is high he can be an outstanding point producer.
