WTF. Dats is not even top10 among Redwing pointgetters?!! Time to start moving up on that list Pavel!
-
Ok. It seems like I'm stuck with the f**kin Quakcommentators. Ihope the Wings shut them up!!
-
Over here in Sweden we get the FSN-commentators. Are they "independent" or Duckcommentators?
-
Ok. To bad. Thanks for the info.

Stevie Y and Mark Messier are giving out the silvermedals to Canada. To bad for Stevie that he'll miss todays win!
-
I was wondering the same thing. Does anyone here know?

Lets go Redwings
-
Did the ref handle this like a PRO? Well, yes if you mean PRO as short for PROstitute (= person who can be bought...) Hmm, makes you think! Lets hope that the wings "kill" the Ducks with three straight wins in pure anger!

Just bought my tickets to '09 opener in Sweden!
Stockholm-wing replied to StevieBoy's topic in General
I wrote sometime ago, in anoter thread "when did you start loving the wings" or something like that, that I was an exchangestudent in Muskegon, MI in 88-89 and got to see all the wingsgames on tv. Never got the chance to go to Detroit since none of my friends were interested in going there . Now it´s only 7 months left! -

I'm so excited! I also got tickets to the first game and can't believe I'm going to my first redwinggame since I "fell in love" with them 21 years ago. Must say that I'm impressed by you "foreigners" (especially N.Americans) that will show up here in S-holm. I'd like to try to meet up somewhere before the game and have a couple of beers. I can't make any plans right now since I have a 1 year old baby. Plans change every minute! Does anyone know if you can get in and watch the wings practice and maybe get some autographs? -
I wrote this earlier in the GDT but am not sure that too many read it because of watching the game Since I know that many of you are a little upset that Crosby gets to much mediaattention I'll post this: http://blogg.aftonbladet.se/18756 It's a swedish sportsjournalist who wrote this in his blogg. (Since I'm a bit lazy today I used the Google translator to translate part of what he wrote) "North American hockey commentators are almost always illuminating. Except when they - as today - have to work for NBC. Then they get that - it has now emerged - the order to withdraw anecdotes instead to reference the events on the ice for the conclusion. Who is it that hatched this "flatnosed" idiot idea? Does anyone really think the big audience that does not follow hockey everyday will become more interested in it, listening to two uncomfortable experts rambling on and on of Sidney Crosbys broken underpants in 4:th grade? The world is full of television executives who understand nothing."

Don't think anyone has mentioned Stefan Liv

Bettman suspends Lidstrom, Datsyuk 1-game each
Stockholm-wing replied to Reds4Life's topic in General
So Bettmans (M)allstar game is tonight. I heard a rumour that in order to get selected to the game you had to have slept with at least on of the zambonidrivers at the Bell Centre. If this is true then I´m upset with Bettman. Why did he only tell some players about this (Price, Komisarek and Markov). i don´t know if the rumour is true but how do you otherwise explain those names beeing on the roster? If that´s the best the east have to offer I don´t think any team from the east reaches the SFC this year! -
Hahahaha Tr!PoD#19 : Where did you go?
-
What the F..K?!! Is it the same refs as we had in the Winter Classic?!!!!! f***in stupid highsticking call om Möller (a slovak hits another slovak in the face). And now they score

Interview with Stevie during the second intermission (on Swedish tv). Come on Sweden!!!
-
As you might guess, I vote YES!! Would be my first Wings game and it would be sweet. Also cool with 2 guys that used to play for Västerås (Our captain and Berglund for the Blues)
-
Cool! I was an exchangestudent at Mona Shores back in 88-89. That's also when my love for the redwings started.

Ok, finally (after a tip from Kradens post) I managed to get some pics online. Here's the link: http://profile.imageshack.us/user/stockholmwing/images the 7 pics are 1. Me and one of the "guards" that follows Stanley around the world 2. Sammy, Me, My 4 month old son and Stanley 3. Me and Stanley 4. Sammy raising the Cup 5. Kronwall and Stanley 6. Lidas giving me back my t-shirt after signing it 7. Lidas and Stanley It's been 3 very cool days "stalking" Stanley. By coincidence I ran into one of the guys guarding the Cup in another part of the town (not where Sammy was showing it). He was a little surprised that I recognized him. We talked a little about his great job. He had been doing it for 12 years. I now realize that he has my dreamjob, travelling around the world meeting hockeyplayers (mostly wingplayers since we win it most of the times!! )
-
Met Kronwall today (together with maybe 500-600 other people) and got an autograph and some photos (not together with him). I asked him about trying to win the Norris next season and his reply was " Noone else will touch the Norris until Lidas quits" When he was interviewed on the ice he was asked what he would like to improve. He said that he wanted to "have a higher lowest level of play" (i hope you understand what I mean) and also improve his shot. He was excited about signing Hossa and resigning Stuart and said that in Detroit we have many star players but it's always about the TEAM. It's a very professional organisation all the way from the owners and GM down to the people who work in the "farm-club" = Grand Rapids. Tomorrow it's off to meet Sammy! I'll try to include some pics in this post (we'll see how that goes) Well I'll have to resize the pics (I'll try later)

Some more videos for those of you who can't get enough of Lidström and the Cup: http://tv.vlt.se/broadcast/view/id/52441 It's three diffrent segments. The first one is an interview with one of the "guards" of the Cup (in English) the other two are interviews with Lidström (in Swedish)
