Get a white Hank with the 'A' I just picked up a red Osgood last night for the finals

Holmstrom will have a good series and give Fleury major problems. I also expect Maltby to have a much better series than the past few.

My beef with Samuelsson is that he'll fire useless shots away like no tomorrow, but then when presented with an obvious scoring oppurtunity he'll finally decide to share the puck, only to find that the oppurtunity is gone. IMO it all comes down to deciscion making with Sammy, and he just does things that I frankly don't understand.

The Pens have to get inside of Chris Osgood's head to have a chance at winning this series. Ozzie has been solid as a rock, but he hasn't faced scorers like Crosby, Malkin and Hossa. If they score a lot in game 1&2, and Ozzie's confidence problems of old return, the wings could be in trouble. With that being said, I don't think they're gonna be able to shake Osgood, who I expect big things from and possibly a Conn Smythe.

awesome work, let's hope the wings can complete that chart!

Game-by-Game Finals preview: 4-1 Detroit
PaVel DaTsYuK fan13 replied to interminded's topic in General
I'd love to see the wings win a cup at the Joe, but IMO there's no way in hell this series is going 5 games, and I think wings will get it done in game 6 in Pittsburgh -
Awesome work. Hope to see another for the finals!

Franzen was clearly the MVP of this run before he got sidelined, but after missing most of our meaningful games, it's really up in the air. You can make a good case for Hank, Datsyuk, Nick, and Ozzie. I'm interested to see everyones thoughts on our current playoff MVP

I was just about to start a thread like this. It's absolutely unbelievable, in one of the few American markets that twill actually be watching the game, half the audience is split. Do they really exprect Vs. to compete with ABC?
-
Firstly, I'd like to say: Pens fans, please don't think that this thread in any way shape or form represents our fan base's views on your organization. I have limitless respect for the Pens franchise as a whole, and it is a miracle in itself that it is still in existence, thanks to the heroics of Mario Lemeuix. Secondly, the thought of a 1 in 30 lottery is unbelievable, how can a team finish last in the league, and only have 3% chance of getting the top pick, while the defending champions would get the same pick. Imagine if such a system existed, and the wings had got Crosby, they would have become a hockey monopoly, and fans in smaller markets would not be interested in seeing their teams continue losing. The Salary Cap Era is designed around parity, and what you are proposing would diminish every aspect of that.

I could see him coming back if the wings were in desperate need of a spark, but this seems like the type of thing you don't mess around with.

I'm glad to see such a great base of Pens fans minus a couple trolls. I have an enormous amount of respect for your organization, espeacially Mario Lemeuix. I'm willing to admit that I am very scared of the Pens. I think that they might find a way to crack Osgood, and their youth and enthusiam could carry them if they get a great start in the series. With that being said, I also have a lot of confidence in the Wings and their experience. There's a lot of possibilities of what could happen in this series and I can't wait for Saturday to see them get played out.

The Pens in my eyes are just not a Stanley Cup winning team. I'll have a better take after game 1&2, but right now, I just don't see the heart that is usually very visible in a cup winning team. Don't get me wrong, I think they're gonna give the wings a run, but I just think that their young guns have yet to develop in to the selfless defensive players we have on the wings. I think Croby & Co. will win at least 1 cup in Pittsburgh if not more, but their not quite their yet.

To me Ozzie is our MVP, but if the Conn Smythe were handed out now, he wouldn't get it because he uses angles instead of making flashy saves.

Turco is a flat out poor sport. I have to say I wasn't to say I was surprised in the slightest by his actions. Morrow and Modano were both classy and lost with dignity, but Turco is an example of one player making a team look like a-holes
-
hmm...... The name Hudler comes to mind.
-
Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Hudler-Flip-Mule Cleary-Draper-Sammy Maltby-Helm-Drake Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lebda-Chelios Ozzie Neither Liljia nor Chelios has done anything brilliant, so if Cheli is 100% I'd take his experience over Liljia.

From Bettmans interpretation of the rule Marty could stand at the blue line and if homer was standing by his stick, the goal would be discounted. It's unbelievable a guy with as little hockey knowledge as Gary runs this league. Go back to the NBA!!!

I've had the butterflies all day, I keep going back forth with the lineup changes I'm having a real tough time making any sort of prediction Please win wings I can't take a game 7!
-
I think I'm the only person who would like to keep things the same. The wings haven't gotten a single break the last 2 games and I think the same pairings are due to put up some offensive tonight. The only change I'm not opposed to is getting Hudler on the second line.
-
I think that historically as the wings playoff goalie Ozzy has reacted pretty well to losses by coming up with big games. Putting Hasek out there is a HUGE risk that you flat out don't take in a game 7. Hopefully we win tonight and it never becomes an issue.

I know, I've had the butterflies all day

Holmstrom HAS to play his game. The phantom call in game 4 has got into his head. The League knows they messed up, and they're gonna give Holmstrom some leeway in the crease. I haven't been this nervous for a game since game 7 against the AVs in 2002. Hopefully thats an omen, Go Wings!
