Claery nearly had it there!
-
Wings are now on the PP.
-
Flipper in the sin bin for holding. Tripping to Florida now. 4 on 4.
-
PP to someone. Probably the Panthers.
-
A shot bounced off of this left ankle. Couldn't get off the ice until after the Wings scored. Had to be helped off. He was trying, though.
-
Looks like a delay of game penalty to the Panthers. Wings PP.
-
And nearly ANOTHER one! This time from Zorro!
-
Wow, we're getting terrible breaks now! OTHER NET, WINGS!!!
-
A terrible bounce off of Lids Tied game.
-
LOL We're never gonna let go of that
-
I think he wanted to play with his Game Boy
-
Wow, quite a bit of time between stoppages in play. Ozzie wanted to change that
-
Wow, terrible luck on Vokoun's part with his skate deflecting Houdini's shot/pass/whatever.
-
Houdini tricked Vokoun there Wings up 1-0 while the Wings still remain on the PP.
-
Holding penalty to the Panthers. Wings PP. Five on three for the Wings coming.
-
Nice save by Vokoun without his stick.
-
So basically, it's still two points for a win? I'm fine either way as long as the Wings are winning
-
A quick question: I thought I heard that the league was upping the points for a win from 2 to 3. Have they done that or do I need to up my meds? C'mon Zorro! Go get them Wings!

Ah, good point. Without Homer being abused near the net, it would make it a bit more difficult for the team to score, what with his rump-shaking spell hypnotizing the goalie and such Seriously, he's up there causing havoc for both the goalie and the defender (and doing it within the rules, most of the time), thus getting them out of position for the shot. Draper's presence on the PK is helpful, what with his speed and experience. Once he gets those legs going, it would be damn hard to slow him without taking a penalty, which gives the Wings the ability to get on the PP. Maltby, like Draper, can draw penalties from the opposition in his own unique way, but sometimes it bites him in the rump. I'm sure that we can carry on with just one of the above missing from the lineup, but having all out will definately hamper us. It's gonna be up to the others to step up and try to fill that gap (whether real or imagined). It means the Cheli and Lids will have to work just a mite harder on the PK and defense, but it shouldn't be too much for them. Homer, on the other hand, is one that is a bit more difficult, as, well, who wants to get pushed around, chopped at, and just all around abused while in front of the net? Maybe Lijia can do that. He's fairly tough and a big body as well? Or Downey? Having someone hard to push away will help. Or maybe I'm just overanalyzing it all

Yeah, it reminds of those slo-mo videos of a bullet piercing an apple and the the fruit exploding outwards like that. Probably the best enhancement this year (or heck, the whole game viewing experience). With the more frames that the camera uses, it will be a bit more easier to see if there were any deflections of the puck while going in the net. Good stuff.

Good, then I am on the same page as you. From a racing fan who has seen championships lost because of races when a driver could have picked up the optimum amount of points in the situation.

I'm not saying that we're gonna drop from the top or are going to be on the outside looking in. All I'm say is that there's plenty of time for the Wings to improve. Maybe Huddles and Flipper will start scoring regularly. Or that Sammy will shoot the puck AT the net or start scoring. Or Kronwall can go several weeks without an injury. Heck, Lillypads' been improving (though, he does occasionally return to his bad self once in a while). If you got that I'm thinking lowly of the Wings, then I apologize for not making that clear enough. Either way, I'm pretty optimistic that the Wings will carry on through the playoffs
-
I don't know, maybe it's because I've never seen him do that in a shootout. I applaud him for trying something different other than "jockstrap for the trophy room" deke, but maybe he could have faked it or something. It was a nice try, though, that I'll admit.

The bolded is what's important to me. Points, no matter how early in the season, is vital. How many games have the Wings not had a point? Not too many, IIRC. Get these points early, then we won't have to worry about getting them late in the season if, by some cosmic force of suck, we're on the outside looking in (again, I hope that doesn't happen, but it doesn't hurt to have a bit of padding, just in case ) A point here, a point there, they all add up. There are still a semi load of games left, and anything can happen between now and the playoffs

Dissapointed that we couldn't get a single goal in the shootout, but we'll have games like that in the future. Seriously, Zorro, a slapper? *shakes head* Well, at least it was something to catch Roloson off, too bad it failed
