    Realignment Not Occuring Next Year

I'm actually going with an NFL type of conferences, with equal numbers of East/West teams in each conference. But of course, if I had my way, there would be no Winnipeg, no Phoenix, just 28 teams, deeper talent pool, and no worrying about who goes where because we know the NHL will NEVER send the Wings to the East so long as the West teams need the money.

    Realignment Not Occuring Next Year

This all wouldn't have happened if the NHL did the right thing and just killed ATL. No realignment needed, especially if PHX were to go bankrupt. There isn't a need for 30 teams when many of them are having a hard time bringing money in. Plus, contraction would help the NHL by deepening the talent pool. No Winnipeg, no Phoenix, no problem.

    Yzerman Lightning Jersey

Imagine how ugly that jersey would look if Montreal was added.

Chris Pronger to miss remainder of 11/12 season & playoffs

I don't think there are more concussions, I think that we hear about them more because they are being reported more thanks to research into their effects. 5-10 years ago no one really cared about concussions and the effect they had on players, but now that we know that multiple concussions can severe affect a players life long after they've retired, there's more awareness and, thus, more reporting on it.

Will Malkin get a call from Shanahan?

A fine at most. I would be hesitant on suspending someone for something that wasn't called unless it was really egregious. Seems like the Penguins should change their team logo to this, and the team mascot to this.

    Ovechkin spears Chris Neil

Ovechkin is considered a repeat offender under the NHL's CBA (his first suspension was a knee-to-knee hit on Tim Gleason in 2009, then suspended again for a hit on Brian Campbell in March 2010 or so), but I don't think the spear rises to the level of another suspension. A large fine, yes, but a suspension? No. I don't think he's been in much trouble (fined or suspended) since the Campbell hit, a fine would be the most I would expect from the NHL, but who knows.

    Ovechkin spears Chris Neil

I don't think the dive that that dramatic, it did look realistic enough for someone who got speared in the gut. Even with the padding and such, it's possible Ovechkin's stick found a seam or one of those gaps and stunned him. Either way, Ovechkin should have gotten a penalty for the spearing. At most now a fine.

    Mcdonald backing up Jimmy

There's a reason MacDonald has only played 87 games in 5 seasons in the NHL. There's a reason he's spent more time in the AHL than the NHL. There's a reason the Wings signed Conklin instead of keeping/bringing MacDonald up. MacDonald is not an NHL calibre-goalie, not to the Detroit Red Wings standards. The most games he's started was 49 when he was with the NYI (2008-2009); outside of that, 15 was the most for him (2010-2011 DET season), then 8 (2006-2007 DET), 7 (06-07 BOS), 6 (09-10 TOR), and 2 (07-08 NYI). Other than the Islanders, all other teams he's played for have seen the same thing and came to the same conclusion: he's just not that good. And as others have said, it's hard to get a good look at a new (or in Conks' case, returning) player when said player has only had 3 starts in 24 games this season. Kinda hard to get a groove going on that. Conks' is here for the season. MacDonald (if I remember correctly) was lit up here at times for his play, and not in a good way. MacDonald has been, and will always be, a career AHL'er, with a few spot starts here if one of the Wings' goalies gets injured.

    A Goalie is Needed

The manner in which some hit the LGW Panic Button TM is funny at times. Some give a gentle press, others pound on it, some use a sledgehammer, but this one just does a ball-flop on it in a mankini, grinding his balls into it for extra effect. The French judge only gave it a 3.2, though, so that's going to affect the overall score.

    Pronger injured after high-stick

The visors, I think, are more for the (asscheeks spread, elbow deep, reaching for a number) 90% of times the pucks and sticks and other random s*** to the face, but (in this case) not for the other 10% of the times (puck/stick deflected up and under the visor). The only true 100% method to keep crap out of the face would be the cage or to not play.

    Pronger injured after high-stick

From the video, it looks like Grabovski's stick slides up Pronger's after the shot and hits Pronger near the eye (the puck may have also hit him but you can definitely hear the two sticks striking together). Since Pronger left the game, it's obviously more than just a puck striking him. Plus Bob McKenzie has this on Twitter: Frankly, I want Pronger to leave the NHL because no one wanted him instead of leaving because of injuries that will affect his daily life.

    Chris Osgood announces retirement

Sucks that he's retiring as he's still near the top of his game. Either way, one of the best goalies the Wings have had in a while. You're not going to find another goalie of his caliber for the money he was making (less than $1M, I think). Thanks for the memories, Mr 400! See ya in the HHOF!

Malaysian Grand Prix will have its name changed to the Malaysia Grand Prix for tourism purposes -The cancellation of the Bahrain Grand Prix The Bahrain Grand Prix, originally scheduled for March 13th, was canceled due to anti-government protests. There was no threat to the drivers or others involved in the Grand Prix race, but the Bahrain monarchy decided to focus all of their attention to the protesters' demands instead of having it divided with the Grand Prix. It is possible that the race will be rescheduled to a later date, most likely near the end of the season. A final decision about the race is expected to be made before the start of the Australian Grand Prix weekend. The accident nearly severed his right arm, not to mention the multiple fratures to his arm, hand and leg. He is estimated to take a year to recover from his injuries. Because of this, Nick Heidfeld will take over the driving duties of the Pole. -The 2010 GP2 champion, Pasto Maldonado, signed on for the Williams team, taking Hulkenberg's seat. -2010 GP2 runner-up Sergio Perez is teaming up with Kamui Kobayashi for the Sauber team, coinciding with the partnership between Telmex and Sauber. -Bruno Senna left Hispania Racing after the 2010 season and has joined Lotus Renault GP as a test/reserve driver.

Both drivers did a few laps in their own cars, then switched to each others for a few laps. The baseline laps were done in wet conditions and the track started drying out as the day went on. Here's part 1 of the event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yzs-2bDai8 Both drivers had a blast, and both quickly adapted to the cars as they went on, with Lewis even drifting it a bit through a few of the turns, then did a few donuts at the start/finish line, while Smoke was ripping it during his runs (as much as he could without binning a detuned car). The next race is on June 26th at Valencia street circuit for the European Grand Prix. EDIT: Bahrain GP officially scratched The calendar is now down to 19 events instead of the intended 20.

    Raymond out 3-4 months

Looks like an unfortunate hit to me. Raymond had assumed (accidentally) the "impromptu blowjob" position and got tangled up with the Bruins player. I got no problem with no punishment.
