I can live with that call regarding the 2nd waived goal. The only problem I have is that the whistles for the opposing goalie seem to be very damn quick lately. Ozzie is keeping us in after a bad 1st period, but then again, he's faced only, what, 11 SOG? Wings need to do a better job of getting better scoring chances instead of shooting the puck mindlessly. This team is in one hell of a scoring slump if we've been shutout for 6 periods spanning the past 3 games. Hopefully, when the Wings score, it'll open the floodgates and lead to more goals for us. Seems like we used up our monthly allotment of goals after scoring 9 and 7 against the Blue Jackets and Ducks, respectively .

Do the teams have the option of declining a PP opportunity? Wings certainly don't seem to have it in their PP units. 30-8 Wings outshooting Flames. Geez, sound familiar?

I never expected the Wings to go to the Cup finals coming into this season. With the players we lost in the off-season, it's not surprising to me that we're having some problems. I would be happy to get the Clarence Campbell Bowl (Western Conference championship), but the team would be having difficulties going through the playoffs. And now, with some big pieces injured, we're struggling. We promoted some of our NHL ready players from the Griffins and don't have the depth we used to have in the past few seasons. I've predicted that, at worst, we would be the 5 or 6 seed, but if we keep having games like tonight more often than not, we'll struggle to get into the top-8. And when Mule and Williams get back, they're got to take several games to get back to game-shape, to shake the rust off, sort of. So, it's gonna be a long season. Hope Edi is willing to share his liquor with the rest of us

It should be, at best, 1-1 after the first, but it's 0-2 after 1 period. If the luck isn't there, the refs are there to snuff out any wisp of it, it seems Goal scorers were Lundmark (Jokinen & Iginla) and Dawes (Moss). That was a period to forget. Hopefully the 2nd and 4rd are lightyears better than that.
