Enjoy. Also, I might put up a post for the 2010 season tomorrow after I post the race results. Best get that out of the way before I forget entirely and have to make hasty posts a few days before the 1st race starts. -
Scuderi looked like he was getting up off of a toilet that was too low for him That was a hell of a low hit there. Surprised that all he got was a fine, but then, the Kings commentators did say that Scuderi does not have a reputation of dirty plays, so I guess the fine is okay be me. BTW, why did Chimera get a misconduct penalty? Blood on his jersey? I don't understand that.

Double checked, and the Wings are 4-4-2 with 10 points so far, and are 11th in the conference (behind the Canucks by 2 points), 3rd in the division (2 behind the Blue Jackets with the 'Hawks leading the division with 15). A good night, points-wise, for the Wings, but they need to work on their puck control and Ozzie needs to work on his goaltending. Night all.
-
Two valuable points for the Wings, with a record of, what, 4-4-2 so far (10 pts, right)? Houdini had his 43rd career game scoring 3 or more points!
-
WINGS WIN! WINGS WIN! WINGS WIN! J-Willy with the GWG!!! Howard gets the win (I think, not sure how the NHL decides the winning goalie). Houdini with 2 goals, Homer, and Kronner get the rest of the goals in the Wings 5-4 win over the Vancouver Canucks!
-
Final minute of the game!
-
2:30 left in the game.
-
About 3:30 left in the game.
-
Get the tiebreaker here, Wings!!! Wings PP! EDIT: AND THEY DID!!! J-Willy style on the PP!!! 5-4 Wings!
-
HOWARD!!! Does the league still have diving/embelishing penalties on the books?
-
Game tied again
-
s***, 5v3 against the Wings here.
-
HOUDINI AGAIN!!! 4-3 WINGS!!! EDIT: I thought that was Homer's goal there
-
That goal was typical Datsyukian goodness right there
-
PASHA!!! 1ST OF THE SEASON!!! TIE GAME!!!
-
Figures it would be Schnieder 3-2 Canucks.
-
TIE GAME!!! KRONNER FTFW!!!
-
A return of the PSAoD?
-
Wings PP. Let's tie it up now, guys!
-
That save that Howard made before the May/Glass fight looked like one of those "Wow, how did the puck end up in my glove?" kind of save. And Howard came up big there! He's doing his best to keep them in the game

Canuck down, just lost an edge and smacked into the boards. Trainers are attending him and Johnson (the injured Canuck) will be wheeled out on a stretcher. Hope he's okay.

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2009 FIA Formula One World Driver's Champion: And your 2009 FIA Formula One World Constructor's Champion: Jenson Button had to finish at least 11 point ahead of his nearest rival (team mate Rubens Barrichello) to claim the championship. Brazilian Grand Prix race results: 1) Mark Webber, Red Bull-Renault 2) Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber 3) Lewis Hamilton, McLaren-Mercedes 4) Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull-Renault 5) Jenson Button, Brawn-Mercedes 6) Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari 7) Sebastien Buemi, Toro Rosso-Ferrari 8) Rubens Barrichello, Brawn-Mercedes 9) Kamui Kobayashi, Toyota 10) Giancarlo Fisichella, Ferrari 11) Vitantonio Liuzzi, Force India-Mercedes 12) Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren-Mercedes * 13) Romain Grosjean, Renault 14) Jaime Alguersuari, Toro Rosso-Ferrari Ret) Kazuki Nakajima, Williams-Toyota (Accident) Ret) Nico Rosberg, Williams-Toyota (Gearbox) Ret) Nick Heidfeld, BMW Sauber (Out of Fuel) Ret) Adrian Sutil, Force India-Mercedes (Accident) Ret) Jarno Trulli, Toyota (Accident) Ret) Fernando Alonso, Renault (Accident) * Heikki Kovalainen was given a drive through penalty (given as a 25 second time penalty as it was handed out after the race) for an unsafe pit release when his chief mechanic prematurely released Kovi when the fuel hose was still attached to the car. The hose was ripped out and spilled fuel in front of the Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen, which then ignited briefly when the fuel vapors came in contact with the exhaust. McLaren-Mercedes was also given a $50,000 fine for the unsafe pit release. Heikki originally finished 9th, but the time penalty dropped him to 12th. Jarno Trulli was given a $10,000 fine for violating Article 151c of the FIA Sporting Code for ‘failing to leave the track as required by the marshals immediately after the incident and aggressively confronting Sutil’, per the stewards. Trulli was pushed off the road by Sutil after Mark Webber cockblocked Kimi Raikkonen in the first lap (damaging Raikkonen's front wing), causing Raikkonen to slow, which set off an accordion effect behind him. Trulli spun off, clipped Sutil (which went for a ride of it's own, taking out an innocent Fernando Alonso). Kamui Kobayashi made his F1 debut in the Toyota subbing for Timo Glock and put in an impressive performance. Unfortunately, he kinda dampened it by knocking fellow Japanese driver Kazuki Nakajima out of the race after an over-aggressive block by Kobayashi (which he was not penalized for). WDC Points 1) Jenson Button: 89 (WDC Champion) (0) 2) Sebastian Vettel: 74 (-15) (+1) 3) Rubens Barrichello: 72 (-17) (-1) 4) Mark Webber: 61.5 (-27.5) (0) 5) Lewis Hamilton: 49 (-40) (+1) 6) Kimi Raikkonen: 48 (-41) (-1) 7) Nico Rosberg: 34.5 (-54.5) (0) 8) Jarno Trulli: 30.5 (-58.5) (0) 9) Fernando Alonso: 26 (-63) (0) 10) Timo Glock: 24 (-65) (0) 11) Felipe Massa: 22 (-67) (0) 12) Heikki Kovalainen: 22 (-67) (0) 13) Robert Kubica: 17 (-72) (+1) 14) Nick Heidfeld: 15 (-74) (-1) 15) Giancarlo Fisichella: 8 (-81) (0) 16) Adrian Sutil: 5 (-84) (0) 17) Sebastien Buemi: 5 (-84) (0) 18) Sebastien Bourdais: 2 (-87) (0) 19) Kazuki Nakajima: 0 (0) 20) Kamui Kobayashi: 0 (+5) 21) Nelson Piquet Jr: 0 (-1) 22) Vitantonio Liuzzi: 0 (-1) 23) Romain Grosjean: 0 (+1) 24) Jaime Alguersuari: 0 (+1) 25) Luca Badoer: 0 (-3) WCC Points 1) Brawn-Mercedes: 161 (WCC Champions) (0) 2) Red Bull-Renault: 135.5 (-25.5) (WCC 2nd place) (0) 3) McLaren-Mercedes: 71 (-90) (+1) 4) Ferrari: 70 (-91) (-1) 5) Toyota: 54.5 (-106.8) (0) 6) Williams-Toyota: 34.5 (-126.5) (0) 7) BMW Sauber: 32 (-129) (+1) 8) Renault: 26 (-135) (-1) 9) Force India-Mercedes: 13 (-148) (0) 10) Toro Rosso-Ferrari: 7 (-154) (0) The final Grand Prix will be the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in about 9 days. That race will decide the final position in both championship points. Later. -
10/17 GDT: Avalanche 4 at Red Wings 3, (SO)

Yeah, it is true that Anderson outplayed Ozzie (the stats prove it tonight here). I just think that if the Wings had scored on that long PP opportunity, it would have been demoralized Anderson to some extent and knock him off of his game (IMO). But, if there's anyone to blame for this loss, it's definitely the Wings for the brainfart on the line change, and Ozzie for not making the necessary saves in the final moments in the game. Wings have plenty of issues to work on if they are to contend for home ice come playoffs, let alone to the Stanley Cup Finals.
