Bingo. Increasing your protein intake does not equate supplement abuse. Protein and fiber are, as I see it, the most key things you can have in your diet whether you're trying to gain or lose weight. It keeps you fuller longer - thereby decreasing the urge to snack. And it keeps your energy up - encouraging you to work out and build that lean muscle mass! It's so easy to pack in - snack on almonds, keep a few hardboiled eggs in the fridge, stock up on string cheese, get chicken on your salad (dressing on the side!). Yay for protein!

If you want to gain weight, try eating more protein, fiber and lifting weights. Building lean muscle will put on pounds the healthy way. If you want to die of a heart attack at an early age, keep on that fast food diet. Probably the single most unhealthy thing you can do!

I'm jumping on the boat for this one. I was one of the rare few who actually LOST weight in college and avoided the dreaded freshman 15. All I ever did was drink and work out - you never hear about that in diet books! After undergrad, everything changed. Law school prevented any sort of work out (and screwed my diet/alcohol levels). I slowly climbed up from 110 to 125 - the final number doesn't sound like much, but on my 5'2 frame, it's on the higher end of what's healthy. I'm back down to 120 by running 30 minutes three times a week, altering my diet (already pretty good, but maintaining portion control, monitoring calories, plenty of protien/fiber and drinking water like a fish) and weight training. My goal is to be down to 115 by my cousin's wedding on May 5. If I can get back to 110 by summer, I'll be a happy girl! edit: spelling, hurr.

according to bucci today, it's whites at home next year: he said, she said. so until we see something official from the NHL, i wouldn't believe everything you hear/read.

ESPN didn't forget to mark the occasion.... memories... -
FSN has all games for the first two rounds, I believe - save for whatever is on NBC or CBC (simulcast). After that, we depend on CBC, Versus or NBC.

Unless my calculations are off, that was one of, if not the last year of existance for PASS. What kills me is that Mike "Turd" Goldberg is forever enshrined as the voice of that brawl... what a shame! -
This one is on Versus, eh? I'll be tracking on the GDT tonight... Damn WOW. But it does give me more freedom to watch the old 3/26/07 game

It blows my mind that this happened 10 years ago today. I was only 14 and the younger Wings seemed like giants... they were back then my age now! Not only does it remind me how far I've come, but how far those guys have come too.... We didn't have cable at the time, so my mom, her boyfriend and I went to their friends' place in Plymouth. It seemed like EVERYONE in the city was watching that game! I remember eating jalepeno poppers and burning my tounge when the Wings tied it up in the 3rd. I also remember there being a lunar eclipse that night, and before OT I wished on the eclipse, "Please god, let them win this one!". Nothing else to me tops the excitement of that game, that season. Nothing. That moment was truly magical. I'd never experienced anything like that and haven't since... e: For the sake of nostalgia.... -
that "season not played" photo is almost heartbreaking...

bummer about d-mac being out. i scored some free tickets through work and was looking forward to seeing the 'hawk in person! tonight is joey mac's night. the winless streak ends! 4-2 good guys, Nick gets his 200th!
-
i'd suggest cobo joe's or the post, mostly because the're close and right there. greektown's got the people mover, but it's not terribly close to where i park (could walk it though if necessary!). what about: nemo's sweetwater tavern (has shuttle to games) detroiter bar

thank you for saying exactly what was on my mind. i read in an interview in the Freep last week with mathieu schneider. at the end of it, he mentioned how he felt like he always belonged here, and something to the effect of as soon as he put the sweater on, what a special feeling it is. even i felt that way when i first got my jersey. i felt so proud to finally own one of my own, to be a part of the heritage. but if they came out with one of these ridiculous and flashy jerseys and dumped the Winged Wheel... forget it. i would never waste my money.
