Giguere is no future hall of famer, but he is definitely a good NHL goalie, and more importantly, the perfect goaltender for the team hes on. Giguere is a positional god, thats what makes him seem to just get shots to the gut , he plays the angle, not the reflex. he makes it so the shooter has no where to shoot by coming out of the net at the right time. also, his style is helped by his natural large size, that makes it easier to play the angle by blocking more net. Then theres the perfect team around him. a team defense that keeps the opposition to the outside, which forces perimeter plays and shots,these types of shots are owned by positional goalies as they take away the net from far away. Next, anaheims defense clears the net physically with size and strength, which keeps all opposition away from the one giggy weakness of playing the angle style, rebounds. they let giggy take away the net for the first shot, then knock down bodies and get to the rebound before we do. It's a perfect set up.

Just sneak down low, at least the low part of the upper bowl. The game i was at i noticed their wasnt much security on ticket checking for the sections i was never stopped once to go lower bowl and i bought nose bleed tix.

The crowd i was a part of against calgary game 5 was great. we were all in the game waving the towels wild screaming (i even lost my voice). it was awesome. But game 1 although i only saw it on tv seemed like the crowd really was pathetic that nite. But a good point made in here is the wings team that nite weren't sparkin' some energy or reasons for the crowd to cheer soo... that could be a big factor. Im sure saturdays game will have a better crowd though, its saturday, more people, easier to get drunk on the weekend, and also i think the wings being down a game now might make fans want to give a little more support to try to wake this team up.

Calgary's team has proved today to be a disgrace to the game of hockey. their down in the score, and the one thing on their mind is how many players they can injure for the remaining time left. It is completley digusting. That team is a bunch of lousy pathetic goons attempting to cling on to the playoffs by their claws by trying to cheapshot their way to a win. F*** you flamers and all your obnoxious fans with the sped helmets thinking your team is a hockey team when all they amount to iis a group of cheapshot artists and a big pile of s***.

No he wouldn't get that many years in UFA, but thats because he wouldnt even want that many because hes never even been on the team before. And Just because dats says he wants to be on our team, that doesnt mean we can just give him half of what everyone else at his level makes around the league. wow quit all the bitching that we signed the BEST player hands down on the team presently playing for 7 years. sure it was a little pricey but what do you expect for a player of his caliber. Is he just completley underrated by wings fans or what?? He is a great player and makes everyone better around him. I understand the risk people say about if his play goes to crap in a year or so but he is such an exciting fan grabing player worst case scenario one of the bottom dwelling type teams starving for fans( and theres a hand ful) will gladly take him off our hands to put people in the stands. Not in this thread but there on people here that feel hes better than he is, the last thread like this ive been in they were bringing up stats comparing him to brodeur from the 90's saying he should be considered for the hall of fame. Im not saying hes the worst goalie ever. im saying hes not as good as some people try to make him out to be on this thread, just like some people make him out to be horrible when hes not as bad as they say. im just saying hes a C average goaltender that lets in an above average amount of softies. thats all. Im happy with him as a back up. I just hate when people over rate him because of his past.

I totally agree on that. The fact that the flames beat them just last year will make the wings more motivated than if the they play a team they expect to whip.

ok now only refer back to 98??? i can refer to at least a goal in almost any game he has played in this season. I agree him being worse than minor leaguers is much but if your seriously saying osgood hasnt let in softies since then thats even worse than what the other guy said. Every one lets in softies, osgood just lets in a little bit more than average. Which flabbergasts me because then the next shot he makes a save that is unbelievable. Thats just how he roles. But any way my point is he could refer to the first goal of tonite if thats better for you, or many others in this season.

All Datsyuk "playoff ghost" bashers demanding for pavs to be traded, prepare to eat crow. Datsyuk is a changed man this year, which is seen in this season clearly. In the physical games where he seemed to be quieted down in the early years, those same games this season he has faught back with a check or two back of his own and a no fear attitude in the corners that ive never seen from dats. Hes got that russian "earn that contract" fever, and he ain't being intimidated by no one.

Just because his opinion is not praising osgood as if he was a god doesnt mean you have to label this as one of those bashing threads, i actually believe its not a bad thread idea, because it will be interesting to see in the offseason what happens with our goalie situation, actually both starter and back up for that matter. So just your a osgood fan probably and your just disgusted that the dude doesnt support him look beyond that and maybe state your opinion on the subject other than just bashing the guy for trying to have a thread. Now as for my opinion on the subject, i believe osgood coming back all depends what hasek ends up doing, how good we do in the playoffs, and so on. If hasek stays, i say drop oz and bring up howard or liv. if he leaves, keep osgood and bring up howard or liv. but yeah it will be interesting though to see what happens.

as far as the hit goes.. he could of let up. and when players just turn around at last second to avoid being hit its bulls*** and i get screwed when im playing hockey by taking pentalies because of those ******* all the time. still, he could of and should of let up. i think its good he visited lebda and apoligized, but he should still get the game suspension and all of course regardless.
