The NHL couldn't do s*** about it, but the NHLPA would raise all kinds of hell. And that's basically the jury of his peers. In short, not going to happen. Not to say he doesn't get something modest like 4-6 million tough.

How does that make sense. The Wings weren't going to trade him and if I remember right they were actually offering him big contracts, maybe up to 4-5 years if I recall correctly.

Not really sure. We will still have some cap room next summer and I suppose it all depends on what Lidstrom decides to do. I think it will be ironic if he doesn't honor his commitment to the KHL kinda like how he didn't honor his commitment to the Red Wings. I just hate when players cause all kinds of drama. Yeah, you are probably right. For that number, he'll probably be more useful than say Dan Cleary. I mean I won't hate the Red Wings for bringing him back if they do, I just think he should stick it out in the KHL. He turned his back on the team to go there, so please stay there until your 2 year contract is up.

huh??? He would have been playing for us if he stayed. That doesn't even make sense. He was a RFA and we signed him to a 2 year deal through arbitration.

I rather see Hudler and his 2.75 million cap hit stay in the KHL. I'd rather see the Wings spend that money somewhere else, not on a guy who turned his back on the team.
