Who's in goal?
-
So we are seeing a changing of guard so to speak w/ a lot of the Western Conference teams this year. You have LA, Colorado, in the #1/#2 slots, Nashville #5, and Phoenix #7. I think if those 4 teams make it into the Playoffs along w/ the Red Wings then the advantage goes to the Red Wings in any series involving any of those 4 teams. Why? Because of Playoff Experience! The Wings have a ton compared to those teams. Remember what happened to Columbus last year? They seemed just happy to be there and I think that could be the same feeling for teams like LA and Phoenix should they make it. Just thought I'd spread some positive vibes. Who agrees w/ me? 1. * Los Angeles 36 47 2. * Colorado 36 44 3. * Chicago 31 43 4. San Jose 34 45 5. Nashville 34 43 6. Calgary 33 42 7. Phoenix 33 40 8. Detroit 33 39 9. Dallas 32 38 10. Vancouver 33 38 11. Minnesota 33 35 12. Edmonton 33 34 13. Columbus 34 34 14. St. Louis 31 33 15. Anaheim 32 31 * = Division Leader

Bettman says next years cap likely similar to this years

How does that help Detroit? Everything must help Detroit, or don't bother posting it!! -
Call me a conspiracy theorist or whatever, but remember that hit Downey put on one of our stars players during training camp?? Was it Zetterberg? Anyway, I like May better because he actually can play a full shift of hockey. I am not too worried when he's out there. I feel the same with him in there that I do w/ our other 4th liners.

Could Some Westen Teams Who Make The Playoffs = Advantage Wings?
rage replied to rage's topic in General
Yeah, that should make a huge difference in how this teams plays as well. Sure you can. Detroit has gone deep into the Playoffs the last 3 years. Those other teams I mentioned are not as experienced like that. Great post. I could totally see that happening. I actually hope teams like Phoenix and LA make the Playoffs this year (as long as the Wings do as well) partly because I feel it could make a Series or two easier for the Wings if they were to face them, but also it'll be great to have some new blood in the West. Bye-Bye Duckies!! Kinda what I was getting at! Thanks! -

You'll have to read my OP again. I just said that I felt that Detroit has more Playoff Experience than the 4 teams I mentioned. But I said that Phoenix and LA could be caught in the "just happy to be in the Playoffs" mentality. Didn't say that about Nashville or Colorado since they make the Playoffs more than not. But Detroit is still stacked w/ players that have been going VERY deep into the Playoffs in the last 3 years. That's what I tried to say in my OP. -

Yeah, where's the Toronto Media w/ their "The Cap is going to go down 5-10 million?" Anyway, if it stays the same or goes up a million that will be great really, considering this economy and all. I guess the cap going up depends on the Pens' cap situation at years end. Sorry had to! -
Maltby over Miller just because. It totally would not suprise me.

What a dick!

And he WILL NOT BE BOOED!!!!!! Yeah, that was a sweet goal. Did you see the pass he had by beating out the icing and creating the goal?? That was awesome too. Anyway, don't like Chicago. Sorry Hossa. I love you man!! Go Wings!!
-
Right. He belongs to Washington. They can bring him up, but he'd have to clear waivers. I believe that after 14 days w/ GR, the Caps are allowed to recall him on waivers and any team that claims him is only on hook for 50% of his Salary. He'll never wear a Wings Jersey just so you know.
-
Don't ask me how I thought he was 34!! Anyway, I don't really see him being the "great teacher" you guys are making him out to be. He's there to play hockey, collect a paycheck, and go home. Nothing more, nothing less. Anything else done is gravy.

I'm not really upset or anything, just surprised people think Rafi would waive his NTC or that they just don't know that he has one. Exactly.
-
I swear, if another person suggests trading Rafalski and his NO TRADE CLAUSE!!!!!!!!!
-
I never heard of the site before. Is it credible? I doubt it. Everything I've read says that he'll stay in Atlanta.
-
And, I'll laugh my ass for for days if the Habs take on Briere's contract in exchange for Halak's contract!!!!
-
I'd be shocked if they trade Carter. No way Dallas trades Turco unless they are out of it come the trade deadline. And good luck getting rid of Briere's contract w/ the NTC. I just don't see a deal here. Maybe Philly should call NYI instead.
-
Wow that's amazing. So if all goes similar to your lineup and Lidstrom inks a $4 million deal, we could spend nearly $6.5 million in the offseason. That's crazy.
-
Okay, you all keep forgetting you CAN NOT TRADE RAFALSKI!! You could however trade Stuart at year's end. Daniel Cleary, DET - NTC [in effect until 30 days prior to the 2011-12 trade deadline] Pavel Datsyuk, DET - NMC [until end of 2010-11 season, then has a partial NTC] Kris Draper, DET - NTC Nicklas Lidstrom, DET - NMC Brian Rafalski, DET - NTC Brad Stuart, DET - NTC [for 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons]
