I think that a little bit much, calling Zetterberg's play this year as "Conn Smythe"! I'd say it's far from that.
-
That being said, #3 is pretty funny!!
-
Okay, am I the only one who thought that this was Don Cherry's pick for top ten scoring lines??
-
And Mackattack (Leafs fan on here).
-
Thank goodness you included the link! That text is rough!
-
Wow, I think you just sold me on both points!! lol. While I would LOVE this, the Kings are playing great right now and I just don't see them moving any players. Although, if we're talking around the trade deadline, well anything is possible!!
-
No, I am glad that you're taking the time to explain it Doggy!! Sorry if I came off as a smartass earlier too. You can blame Drake!! j/k Drake!
-
No I was being serious. But I thought you were saying Lilja's $$ counts against the cap, when in actuality it's not (in the sense that we can spend Lilja's $$ on a replacement for him).
-
ROFLMAO!! Good point my friend!
-
Then please explain Lilja to us.
-
Of course he can't. That's why he hasn't posted since his OP.

Well yeah, Kovie OR a really nice D-man plus a nice Winger. Or hell, get Satan cheap, got $$ for a D-man.....backup goaltender if Howard can't cut it (man I am hoping he does!!). So much potential out there, even through UFA and Waivers. We don't HAVE to give up the Farm in order to improve (especially w/ that much wiggle room).
-
I totally agree. Go for all the Cups you can while you have Lidstrom the best player in the World on your team. I just wonder how the cap works, cause if you save 2.5 million till the deadline and factor in how the Pending UFA Contrasts work during trade, It'd seem that the Wings could get a player that was worth $6 Million this year, the last year of their contract since only the last 25% would count against the cap. Am I way off here, or does this sound reasonable?
-
In which case we could keep both players on the roster once Franzen returns? Does that also mean that we would be able to add a player w/ a Cap hit of 2.95 million at the Deadline, or more/less?? Thanks Drake!
-
Unless he wins the Norris (very good possibility) I see him taking a pay-cut (hometown discount). I think he'll get extended this year ($5 million), most likely before Christmas and I expect it to be either a one-year deal or a two-year deal. My gut tells me it's one-year deals from here on out for Nicklas Lidstrom. Who really knows though.
-
So does that equal out to what I said in my post above?
-
True. They all seem like great candidates for this. Chelios especially, he for sure will get down to business in a hurry. My only concern is Lidstrom being tied up in all this, along w/ the Olympics, etc.
-
I should have included Chelios in the Title of this Thread. Sorry!
-
I read on here that w/ Franzen out we could sign a 2.5 million dollar player now and keep both on the roster when Franzen comes back. Anyway, I think we have like 16 million in cap space next season, but we are losing a lot of contracts that need to be either replaced or resigned. And when you factor in Lidstrom, not so sure we will have much more than we had this offseason. Sorry to burst your bubble. Plus, do you really see Detroit trading high drafts picks/prospects this trade deadline??
-
Well, I do like to consider myself a multitask-er!

I've been thinking this for a while as well. I always thought that they should have at least one game a night on VS and games on Friday/Saturday/Sunday on NHL Network or something. One hockey game every night might increase viewers in the long run! And more importantly, I'd make me happy!
-
Oh and I thought the answer to your question, "What does 9,162 fans look like?" should have been "A desert.
-
I would like to think attendance will increase. I read that they are also giving out free tickets. Who knows how that will work. It's really sad to see this for any NHL team though.
