The guys on NHL on the Fly were saying they are expecting Abdelkader to step up and fill in!! LMAO! I think the Wings will be looking at, oh I don't know, Bertuzzi/Flip/Cleary/Homer/Leino to step up in the scoring department before Abby! Abby is one of the last players I expect to step up and help fill the VOID of Franzen. Mind as well as count on Draper and Maltby to keep up their scoring pace in that case. In their defense, one of the guys did mention Leino as a guy who has to step up big time.

Not going to happen w/ the way LA has been playing and that Frolov Smyth line is pretty damn good right now!

DETROIT -- Bad news on the Johan Franzen injury front: The Red Wings just announced that the big forward will be out a minimum of four months after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Thursday's 3-2 win over Chicago. This is the third straight season in which Franzen has injured his knee in October. But this is his most serious injury. Franzen, whose first goal of the season proved to be the game-winner at 17:49 of the second period Thursday, is starting the first year of an 11-year, $43 million contract.

Looking for the Fight here in the 2nd. This is why I love Center Ice. I rarley watch games other than Detroit, and we all know there are basically NO fights in those games. Here on Center Ice just about every game I watch has a good chance to have a FIGHT!! WooHOOO!!!

Oh I don't doubt that this sounds just fantastic in your head. I just don't see how you can put Helm on the 1st over Zetterberg, Bertuzzi, Flip, Cleary. Helm was great in the playoffs of course! That doesn't mean he is ready for 1st line playing time! Come on now! He's a 3rd liner at this point in his career!
