Sources tell TSN the Maple Leafs informed Ferguson of his fate earlier this morning. Cliff Fletcher has been linked to much of the speculation regarding the team and the Globe and Mail is reporting the Maple Leafs are set to announce Fletcher as their interim general manager. The Leafs contacted a number of hockey management types last week to gauge their interest in the job and asked Fletcher if he was interested in taking over for the rest of the 2007-08 campaign. Related Info Power Rankings: Leafs #24 Fletcher, a Montreal native and Hockey Hall of Famer, was GM of the Leafs from 1991 to 1997. Didn't see this coming! Sure is about time.

Pretty muc sums up my thoughts. It would seem that the BJ's would rather trade him to a team NOT in their division. I know everyone here has man love for him, but who's to say he doesn't go to the Devil's or Sens or even Pitt?

Hey Banndedforlife! Hell yes Holland said that, although I added the part. He was asked about adding players such as Hossa and he said he wouldn't talk names, and then said something to the effect of..."You only get so many opportunites to make a serious run at a Championship and we know that..........." I added the because that is exactly what I took from it and everyone that knows anything about the game understands this. ----------------------------------------------------------

We would have to give up alot for Hossa, nothing but $ for Foppa, and a little for Blake/Foote. Like Ken Holland said last night on 97.1, you only get so many opportunites to make a serious run at a Championship. With Lidstrom and Hasek and Chelios, this may be our best and one of our last for awhile, so what the hell!!!

Of course he will say that. Most players do until they get traded. If he doesn't sign an extension soon, they will pretty much have to trade him. Most players don't come out and say, "Well we are looking at others team to go to come the trade deadline..." BS-PR IMO. Just saying.

I don't see any trades with St. Louis and like you said, the Canes ain't going to be trading away Commodore. Even if they did, Detroit would be one of the very last teams to get him. And don't forget, Flip isn't going to be going anywhere.

They had Hasek and Draper on one of the sports show late last night saying that if he improved and showed he had something left that they could see him being on the Wings team. The funniest part was when Hasek was talking and he said something like, "If he can skate, hit, and fight like he used to.." Hasek wants him to fight!! Point being, last night they made it sound like he will be back late in the season. EDIT: I tried to find a link, but the website sucks! It was on WDIV Channel 4 with Katrina Hancock and Rod Parker.
