I love how everyone loves having Bert on the team now!! Year ago, if you wanted here, you got blasted!! haha. I would be scared to play Calgary if we had anyone other than Hasek in net. Now I am not. Plus, I have a good feeling this year. Bring em on!! Red Shows RAGE!!!

Perfect. They say we are building this team around Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Kronwall. Well we know how much money Dats and Kronwall are going to make for at least the next 5 years. That allows us to plan way more in advace on what players we want or go after, and how much we have to spend to surround them with the best supporting cast. I like the way we are working the Cap system so far.

I know it's not the same, but you could take a look at his performance in the Russian league Playoffs he was in the year of the lookout. I believe he was healthy then too.

What I ment is just because the pressure of a contract is on you, you shouldn't become a better player (though it happens all the time). And more importantly, without the pressure of the contract, you shouldn't give up the will to perform. You said "Well if I got my contract, the pressure of performing FOR ONE, is gone", and I thought you ment that you wouldnt play as hard or care as much. That's all.

It's not the pressure to perform they want or like, it's the will to perform.

Good points. The Wings plan for these things for years in advace, or as much as they can. Before Lookout we were the "Yankees" of hockey. 2 strait years after the lockout, 2 Presidents' Trophy's (maybe). Yeah, I'm sure we won't have to worry about the Tampa Bay problem here.

So, it sounds as if the Cap is going up 2-3 mill. I think this deal will pan out great. Datsyuk is turning into a complete player, and with the right line mates, I am excited.
