The most annoying things about being at games?
BobRouse03 replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
Being from Philly, I think we've cornered the market on drunk, obnoxious fans so my experience at the Joe was child's play in comparison. However, one thing I could not understand was the amount of people who stand up to go to the concession stand or bathroom WHILE play was going on. It seemed to me that no one waited for a stopage in play to roam around. I could only imagine what would happen if people did this in Philly. -
I was at Game 6 Chicago at Philly when Patrick Kane scored in OT to clinch the cup. I was in the first level opposite end of the rink and no one could tell Kane scored. I'm just glad I got to boo the hell out of Bettman in person, which was well worth the price of my tickets.

Being from Philadelphia, this press conference is forever ingrained in our heads. You would be amazed how often the "Practice" presser is used as a reference around here. For a very very very short period of time in this city, the 76ers were the talk of the town.

I came on here to vent....but all the TastyKake talk has put me in a great mood!

I live just outside Philly in Jersey. I've seen the Wings in Philly (spectrum and wachovia), Jersey, Washington, NYI, NYR, Boston, and Toronto. Best hockey atmosphere was Toronto. When I was in Washington the place was overun by Wings fans, but that was pre-Ovi days. In Jersey half the arena was empty and Long Island is a dump. Madison Square Garden is a great, historic atmosphere. Boston was nothing special. I can speak a lot on Philly. I've seen the Wings there pretty much every game for the last 20 years. It's a good place to watch a game so long as you don't act like a ****** bag. If the Wings score, stand, clap for them then sit down. If you talk trash there will be problems, but if you act okay it is a great time. BUT....wear a jacket over your jersey in the parking lot.

That number doesn't get the respect that it deserves!

I would imagine the assumption is that the NFL will have a season and the NHL is smart enough to know they could never compete with the NFL's ratings on a Sunday. The Eagles are scheduled for a home game on January 1....so the game would have to take place at Citizens Bank Park. Im disappointed that Detroit will not participate in the Winter Classic, especially because i'd love to see behind the scenes on HBO. I'm glad Philly gets to host a game from a purely selfish reason. I live here and will more than likely be able to attend the game, so I'm happy about that; however a Detroit/Toronto game in Detroit would be amazing.

I'm starting to have new found respect for the Penguins! Appreciate the support. Hopefully the doubts keep creeping into the Sharks' heads and history can be made again. Go Wings!

Have to appreciate the love for Bob Rouse!

Blame Ericsson all you want but Jason Williams shot was brutal and essentially turned the puck over.

It was Yandle that gave the two handed Z across the feet as he was celebrating the goal causing him to fly into the end boards. Of course that wasnt called and neither was the baseball swing Yandle took across Stuart as he scored the goal. I watched the play several times over and the ref just stood there watching as Z went into the boards. The NHL wants a close game....we GET it.

I see Greenman, but I am more curious to know where Dayman and Nightman are

I was at the game and did not have the benefit of an instant replay...but it certainly looked like a big time elbow from my vantage point

I will be at the game today. Anyone else going?

Hopefully the Wings play well with Ozzie in net. I will be at the game and it has been quite some time since Detroit has won in Philly.

I always thought the shootout was a joke. I know there are fans that like it, but I am not one of them. I have Center Ice and whenever a game goes to shootout I turn it off. I would just as much like to see a two man potato sack race to determine which team gets the extra point. Actually I always thought it would be more entertaining for the home team to determine which NHL skills event to use to determine the winner. Talk about home ice advantage...your loaded with guys with hard shots so you select the hardest shooter comp. You have fast skaters so you select some guys to do laps and time them. Hey its just as silly and arbitrary as the shootout so why not? I would love to have a team full of defensemen that can skate around cones to get an extra point in the standings.

Keep having the game freeze on you and see how classy you stay

NBC is killing me...can you imagine this happening during the Super Bowl?

Like most hockey fans I like to look at patterns. After all how many of us wear the same jerseys, watch a game in a certain seat, or perform some sort of daily action because it will result in a Red Wings victory. I was reflecting on why the Red Wings will repeat. I was tempted to write this article last year, but decided against it.....but given how last year played out I decided to write about the pattern now. I am a huge Red Wings fan that lives in South Jersey (just outside Philly). My father was a huge Flyers fan....low and behind the Flyers won the Cup his senior year of high school and freshmen year at college. Well fast forward to myself, the Red Wings fan. I graduated high school in 97 and was a freshman in 98....and guess what the Wings won the Cup. Fast forward to 2002...when I graduated from college....you guessed it, the Red Wings won the Championship. My younger brother was raised to be a Red Wings fan, moreso than the Flyers.....by the way he graduated high school last year. Who won the Cup that year??? He is currently a freshman at college and if the pattern holds true the Wings should be carrying the Cup at seasons end. And on a side note is set to graduate college 2012. Thought there was a crazy pattern and wanted to share. I am sure others out there have patterns that point to the Wings winning the championship as well. LETS GO WINGS

I was at the Kings last game, which was at Philly, and it looked much like the game tonight.

I thought the Canadians were employing a strategy using those jerseys.......give Patrice Bergeron a seizure by making him look at those jerseys

How could anyone forget about Bob Rouse?

It would only apply to any Redwing that was supposed to attend the Youngstars game
