Wings & Babcock working out a contract

Holland and Babcock are starting contract talks. Hopefully they keep him for awhile. He's been great for the Wings. Also, Mac is said to be out a couple more weeks. Might play near the end of the season. *crosses fingers* http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...ck_talking.html

Despite it being against the Jackets, I have a feeling this will be a real good, entertaining game. LETS GO WINGS!!!!!!! GO OZZIE!!!!!!!!!!

3/19 Morning Skate: Filppula out (groin)

That's awesome bout Meech. I always pictured him at forward anyway. LOL it's definitely special he can play both though.

    SERIOUSLY? I gotta see this.

    Marty Brodeur's 7th 40 win season

Absolutely LOVE Martin. IMO, he is the best goaltender in the history of the league. When all is said and done with him it'll be a sure thing.

Wings & Babcock working out a contract

Babcock hasn't stuck with his plan of playing Dom majority of the rest of the season because of nagging little injuries. I think many forget that Babs likes to only use one goaltender. He's said it countless times. He's rotated majority of this season because Ozzie was playing phenomenal and deserved to keep playing, then Dom got hot so he thought it'd more fair that way. BUT all along he's said at the end he'd play Dom to get him into a groove. The injuries have been a setback, it's nothing to do with Babs wanting to still rotate.

The Wings have a great goalie coach in Jim Bedard.

Mattias Ohlund out for the season

Didn't see this posted anywhere. It's a huge blow to the Nucks if in fact they hold on to the 8th spot and make the playoffs. He could come back if they did but it would have to be in the 2nd Round if they get there.. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3291937

    Simon Says...

He's 100% right. It's exactly because Pronger is a star player and Simon is not. What a joke.

The Wings always lack intensity when the season is about to come to an end. It's like okay we've sealed the division, and a playoff spot so lets stop playing because it doesn't matter till the middle of April. That's just the way I think they see things. Honestly it doesn't really bother me though. I think they should make sure they get 1st overall in the West and then start resting guys and such. Getting on a hot streak going into the playoffs would be a good thing, but I don't think it matters that much because come playoff time it's a whole new start.

True, but I never said both goals weren't his fault. I was just commenting on the 'trash' comment. I know the first one he let in was bad. I still am not sure about the second one though. I'll comment on that after I see it again.

I'd honestly have to see it again. I perfectly remember the first goal and I didn't like that one at all. But for the second, I saw Oz come slightly out of his net and give the puck to Kronner and slowly ease back into his net and then outta nowhere the Preds stole the puck and threw it in the net. Then again I could be completely wrong. From the replay I remember Kronner giving it up at the last second, but oh well. I recorded the game so I'll definitely check it out again.

I really don't know where to start with your lovely post here. You just admitted you didn't watch yet you in fact did say he played like trash and let in 'trash goals.' I was at the game against the Stars and I don't recall Ozzie letting the Stars almost tie it up. Funny though you bring something completely irrevelant to this discussion that didn't have an effect on the outcome of the game. whatsoever.. Save % doesn't mean anything you say? Goals against is more of a team stat, whereas save % is all about the goaltender. As a fan of the National Hockey League, you should know that.

That's the way it should be. We all have our faves, but when it comes down to it winning is the most important thing.

Do you think your profanity & insults make your posts anymore right than anyone else? Because that's what i'm getting from you. First off, Ozzie was in no way trash yesterday. Were you watching the game? Since when was allowing TWO goals on 26 shots and a .923 save percentage bad? The second goal was a miscommunication between him and Kronwall. There are no double standards here. At least the Ozzie fans will ADMIT when he has a bad game, or when he should of made a stop on some of the goals he let in.

Yep. I agree. I don't think Ozzie has been great, but he's has more than a few games in the last month or so where he's played really, really well. The only time he wasn't so hot was after the All Star Break. I agree that Dom won't be on a short leash either. I don't care what anyone says because Babs is NOT the type to switch goalies come playoff time. He didn't with Manny and he was HORRIBLE, no way he does it with Dom. He'll stick with him no matter what.

True. I don't think either has played all that well either, and to an extent you gotta think missing their top 4 D kinda hurt them. Yes their job is to stop the puck, but there were a few times in that horrid slump where the team completely left both Oz and Dom out to dry. Only so much they can do. Then again that's not an excuse coming from me. I don't think they've played well, but they haven't been awful either.

I don't know why that made me really laugh and it's kinda catchy. Although I don't even consider Oz a back up, but that's just me.

Man that was really close at the end. Mule is the man!!! He's the next Homer, but with much better hands. Ozzie's save near the end there was phenomenal. Hasek was very off his game today, but oh well. It happens.
