What does it matter anyway? That's the business of hockey and it's a legal thing to do. If a team cares enough about one of their RFA's then they'd be smart enough to lock 'em up so no other team can go after him. I don't see why a GM should be knocked for this.

The Oilers just got much better. Smart on Lowe's part. BOO HOO to Burke. I think Bertuzzi is awesome, but in the end, Penner is going to be better and it's something the Ducks should have thought about before they overpaid Bert.

I understand the whole relating to the players and such like Yzerman, Shanny, D-mac, etc.. but I think it's the prices that are the problem. They are way too high and when you mix that with a poor economy it doesn't go togther.

Well I did have a dream prior to the playoffs that we were facing the Flames in the 1st and Ducks in the 3rd.

Bert will have a damn good year and then we are all going to feel like crap about it. I agree that at the 4 mil price that it's too much, but that wasn't the problem. He just wanted a 2 year deal not one which I still think he should of got. Now he's going to be kicking ass for another team and being a badass instead of being on our side. *shakes head*

Avery knows exactly what he's doing. He's a so called 'punk' because he is effective in the role of being one. He knows how to take someone off their game, and he knows how to agitate. Besides all that he's been a completely different player since his first stint with the Wings. He's played much smarter, is very good on the PK, and can put the puck in the net. He makes a difference and in the end that's all that should matter. Definitely was on good terms. I remember they were taping the documentary "The Season" for the Wings while the trade went down. Holland kept trying to keep Avery out of the deal, but the Kings kept pushing that if Aves isn't included then a deal wouldn't be made. I remember they even showed Holland calling up Sean and sort of apologizing to him. You can tell Aves was completely bummed, but Kenny and him were on good terms.

I was completely THRILLED about signing Rafalski. He doesn't have anything to do with what I was saying though. I was moreso talking about it being boring and disappointing because we got rid of 4 players that pretty much were all my faves. Hmmm well you're going to have to go to Edmonton to see Rachel because she's now dating Jarret Stoll. Her and Sean have been done for awhile now. He's now engaged to Elisha Cuthbert.

Calder does not belong up there in honorable mentions. Psh.

*crosses fingers* oddly enough..last night I had a dream Avery was a Wing again. Oh how I want that dream to come true! If it doesn't work out with the Rangers and he somehow makes it back here, everything I said about this offseason being a boring one for the Wings will all be taken back.

That was one of the happiest moments for me! It was great to see everyone step it up physically. I'll never forget one of the shifts by that line and i think it was against the Sharks? Homer hammers one of them through the boards, seconds later Hank sends one of them into the boards hard, and again seconds later Datsyuk follows up with a big hit. I was blown away. lol

Homer's was definitely scary, but Cleary's incident scared the hell outta me. It was such a freak accident. Luckily both of them were okay and that's all that matters.

First off, this has nothing to do with the Ducks beating us so why you brought that up I have no idea. That series is way done and over with and we've all learned to except it. I myself have disliked Burke since he was with the Nucks. He ******* over everything and anything and makes an ass out of himself. It's one thing to defend your team, but it's another to defend them blindly *aka, prongers suspsension twice, the bertuzzi incident, among other things*' The man doesn't know when to shut up. Good for him in making the Ducks a championship team. No one is discrediting of him doing that are we? Didn't think so. Also, to say he made the Nucks a respectable team is pretty laughable. He along with Crawford made them a nasty, disrespectful team that no one could stand. That's not the case now though because they got rid of his nonsense. Anyways, I don't buy the if it were the Wings we'd be acting differently. I sure as heck wouldn't. That's just the business of the game. If you want your player enough and think he's worth it then you'll match the offer regardless. Why should Burke ***** about another GM wanting one of his players? Lowe wants to make his team better so props to him going out and offering Penner a contract. If Burke hates it so much then he should match the offer or shut the hell up and move on.
