Oilers sign RFA Vanek to 7-yr, $50M Offer Sheet

He is a great player, but I think this is an overpayment once again. This has been an awfully weird offseason. But I love how TSN read "Nice Try" haha towards the Oilers.

    Official: Hasek signs 1-year deal

'Sexy tandem back in the saddle.' as Ozzie would say.

    New York Rangers

He's making a little over 7 a year. Still overpriced, but not 10 million. That would be completely insane. He'd probably then be the highest paid player in the league. The Rangers may be dumb, but not that dumb. What bothers me is that Gomez is getting more than Drury. That is what I don't understand. EDIT: WOW. I didn't know he'd be making 10 million this season. WHAT THE HELL?! Scott Gomez is going to make 10 million this season? They really are dumb.

    Official: Hasek signs 1-year deal

Good stuff. I wonder why it took so long if it wasn't about the money? Oh well.

Post your lineup for this season.

I'm not impressed. And before ANYONE jumps on me. I know Holland can still make moves, and probably will when the season starts or later on. I loveeeee them, and believe they will still be really good, but I am not feeling this line up. At all. And if that is wrong for me to say then oh well.

    Wing's worst offseason in years

Would Jeff O'Neil be a good fit?

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

Thanks Flip check. Let me say something for one last time. I disliked Bert because of the Moore incident. Prior to that, I disliked him because he was such a great player, and such a pain in the ass to play against. I remember after we beat the Nucks in '02 I kept telling my Dad that as much as I didn't like Bert that I would love for him to be on our side. When we aquired him in February, I got REALLY excited because I wanted to see what he could do, and I knew what he was capable of. Also, watching him in interviews, and such made me realize that outside of hockey he's not a bad guy, and actually very down to earth, and genuine. So really, that all together made me like, and respect the guy. I was 'sad' when he went to the Ducks because I believe that he really could of done some damage here. That is all. Are things more clear now? Geeeeeez.

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

WOW. So it's wrong for me to have wanted to see what he could of done with a full season with the Wings? It's wrong that I love the idea of having a bad ass such as Bert on our team? It's pretty much pointless talking to you seeing as how regardless you're going to keep bringing up me and my 'sanity.'

Wings re-sign Hudler to 2-year deal

How bout a line of: Huds/Flip/Franzen Tons of skill, and a big boy in the Mule to protect Jiri and Flip.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

No need for the apology. Hmm. I beg to differ on Cujo. He was great for us in '04, but the guys in front didn't do anything in return.

Wings re-sign Hudler to 2-year deal

Ooh I want in on this. I say he puts the puck in the net 24 times.
  22. HockeyCrazy3033

    Raycroft to Detroit?

Are you stating that Cujo is a middle of the line goaltender and not tested?

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

PLEASE stop with the whole money issue. It was NOT about the money. It was about the length of the contract. No one here is saying that Bert should be getting 4 million, or that Holland should of offered him that. He wanted a year or two more in terms. That is all. Everyone stating it was about the money is just making excuses so they can hate the guy all over again. How many times in the papers, and coming from Ken Holland did he say that it was about the term, and not money? So there ya go. Enough already.

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

So wait we can't stick up for him or want him on our team anymore because he decide to go elsewhere with a team more interested in him than the Wings? I guess it's wrong for me to defend Brodeur, Cujo, St.Louis, Roenick..etc too then? Seeing as how they are my favorites that don't play on the Wings. Give me a break people. Fact of the matter is I am disappointed because I would of loved to see what he could do with a full season under his belt, and him being healthy. He could of done wonders for the Wings. That is why I am pissed about losing him. And no, I don't believe he ditched us, nor do I think it had anything to do with money. Money was never the issue, the term was. He's a family man. He wanted to have a home here permanently, have his kids go to school, and not deal with moving around anymore. Signing him to a one year contract would of been very unstable for him. I could see why he wanted two or more. Makes all the sense in the world. I really do believe he wanted to stay here. Especially hearing Draper, and specifically Chelios talking about how much he kept stating he loved it here. It really came down to who wanted him more, and that was Anaheim. The fact that some of you are dissing him and Schneider when he signed with the Ducks is just wrong.

Wings re-sign Hudler to 2-year deal

I think there is a misconception that because Huds is so small that he is some sort of wuss? Which isn't the case. The guy is pretty damn feisty, and isn't one to turtle and hide when someone big comes at him. Not saying he's a tough guy, but he most definitely isn't afraid either. I remember late in the season someone was messing with Drapes and Huds comes flying out of nowhere in his defense and starts shoving the guy about three times and the refs had to seperate the two. That is some good stuff right there..
