That is not true at all. When the Wings went to the finals in 97, 98, and 02 everyone in Detroit went out of their minds. I remember the news and everyone of the channels had breaking news of the Wings going to the SCF, and they'd show thousands among thousands of fans just OUTSIDE *not coming from the game* going crazy and celebrating till the wee hours of the morning. They had to have cops outside in every corner because everyone was going SO crazy. As for the champagne and such...the Wings did tha too, they just waited till AFTER they won it all.

Yeah I went to Game 1 against Calgary and the crowd was GREAT! Loud as heck. You couldn't even hear yourself think. It was an amazing atmosphere. Hopefully we'll see that again soon..

Does it really matter who it's against? He was a big reason in that game 6 that the Wings advanced. Obviously aside from Franzen, but if not for Lang then OT and Franzen wouldn't have happened.
