Not once have I ever posted in that damn thread. Never. Also, how has Osgood blown his chance? Since when was playing great in his last three starts blowing his chance? Are you watching the games or are you just saying these things because you dislike him that much? Manny has played more than Ozzie. Manny has played the easier teams within the first month and a half. Osgood comes in and faces teams about 500 and still gets wins, and still plays sharp in net. Osgood is still suffering from his groin, yet still manages to be in great position, have great reflexes, and make those big saves that need to be made. How on EARTH can you tell me that Manny deserves to be #1 over Osgood due to stats? Please look at the way the Wings D plays in front of Manny compared to the way they play in front of Oz. Look at what happened last night. You say "Oh 7-6 couldn't you at least stop some!" Did you even watch the game? You do realize that Howard let in the first three, and got pulled right? You do realize that the second Oz got between the pipes that he was put in a 5 on 3 situation for nearly 4 minutes straight in which they scored twice on him. Two goals that NO goalie would of freaking stopped, you go ahead and look at those goals again, and tell me how anyone would of stopped them..ESPECIALLY in a 5 on 3 situation. And you also go ahead and tell me when was the last time you seen Manny in by himself on a 3 on 0 situation? In regards to Osgood's 3.10 goals against. Obviously you aren't getting the new rules of the NHL which opened up the scoring big time. New rules were made so there would be more SCORING in the NHL, and that's exactly what's happened. Look at Fleury from the Pens. His goals against isn't good, but that doesn't mean he's not playing good he's been great for the Pen's this season but his team in front has been horrible, therefore leaving Fleury out to dry and scored on all the time even though he's making those incredible saves regardless. You gonna tell me Belfour, Theodore, Nabakov, Luongo, Kolzig, and Esche are bad as well? Look at their goals against. Like Marty Turco said.."Just because the goals against for a goalie is up this season, doesn't mean he's not playing well."

Legace is better than Osgood? He's everything and more? Right. Because exactly what has Manny done in his NHL career besides back up? I'm not hating on Manny because he actually is one of my faves but when you say that he's better than Osgood and MORE? That just boggles my mind in which I have to respond to it. How is Manny better? What's he done? You always come on here and antequate the good marking of a goaltender is by them winning a stanley cup. Because it seems like that is what you bring up most often. (that Ozzie one a cup) And all i can say is that in '98 osgood was ok. His mediocre play and the great teammates in front of him won hime a stanley cup. But ya know, not to be hating on Osgood but I believe, now in the present and future that manny is the best fit as a starting goaltender. Manny needs his turn and truth be told the reason why osgood was brought back in the first place was that they could not afford anything better. they had just enough in the cap to afford him. I dont claim to have ever liked osgood and never will/ definitely not and ozzie loyalist here. I think for now Ozzie needs to relax as soon as manny can get back. Meaning let ozzie warm the bench seat and let manny have the position in which the man is entitled to. Osgood had his chance. Ya knbow, I must say though that his game against the pens was awesome! NOT! They are the suckiest team in the league and ozzie did not face many shots. the puck was in pittsburgh's end most of the game. Buyt there is only one thing I will give him props for- and that is letting in the one and only goal that was in his net that game. it was a beauty But hey Im not hating on him.. just giving the facts as i see them and any person can respect that. But hey one question and last and final thought. Where were all the osgood loyalist when he lost in the playoffs? The answer: Booings and throwing cups on the ice! (ECT.) I REST MY CASE! Do yourself a favor and go back to the threads where you post how "hot" the Wings are. Seems to be the only thing you are good at when it comes to hockey. Sad, but true.

They have three goalies at the moment because Manny is injured. That's normal. Osgood is having the worst season of his career? Where do you get that from? He's played around 11 games and already you are gonna make that judgement that this is his worst season? You say he hasn't done anything so far this season that's been anywhere near as good as Manny? Well, when Osgood starts playing as much as Manny did in the beginning of the season then we can have that arguement. He's been rock solid in his last three starts, and was awesome for the Wings in the third against the Thrashers. Also, saying why Manny hasn't done anything because he's backed up such great goaltenders really isn't such a great excuse. If he was so great then he would of been starting elsewhere no matter who he was backing up. Why didn't other teams go after him? Why did he make it to the NHL at such a late stage? Manny is a great back up goaltender, ain't no one in the league better than him at that and that's the truth. I think he's played great so far this year, but my problem is that you are comparing him to Osgood. You can't compare a career back up to someone that's won cups, that's been starter for most of his career, that's been to all star games, that's won the jennings trophy..etc. And what does me looking into a "trade Ozzie" thread have to do with me being so for him? He's my favorite, everyone knows it. I came in here cuz I wanted to see what you guys were posting. Ain't no harm in that, and that in no way shape or form takes away from me being the big Chris Osgood fan that I am.

Why do you keep stating that you'd like to see him stop breakaways? He's stopped 2 out of the 3 he's faced in the last 2 games. That's pretty darn good IMO. Especially when your defense keeps leaving you out to dry. I think it's really hilarious when the second the Wings lose it's all Osgood's fault and everyone asks for him to be traded. Ay yi yi.

No way in hell should the Wings trade Hudler. He's the future. Definitely don't agree with it. Like NN said he's full of skill.

Manny to be traded? Weird. No way would he ever be starter in place of Brodeur. Sure Marty hasn't been as great as he usually is this season but he's still been pretty darn good. There are a bunch of goalies right now that have a goals against of 3 and yet they are still playing really good. Brodeur is the best goalie in the NHL, period.

So if Manny goes, the Wings won't make the playoffs? Why do I highly doubt this? Sorry to break it to you but Chris Osgood is MORE than capable of taking the Wings to the playoffs, and taking them far if all goes well. He's made it to the playoffs in every season that he's been starter. And if you want to debate about it some more.. like I know you will then all I'm gonna say is New York Islanders & St.Louis Blues.

There you go again. Putting words in everyones mouth. No one said Osgood won the cup by himself. No single player wins any TEAM sport by himself. It was a team effort. But yes, Osgood did play good enough to win it, and he did deserve that cup. Secondly, once again, no one compared him to Roy. Just because some believe that when all is said and done that Ozzie will make it to the HOF doesn't mean he's automatically being compared to Roy, so I have no idea where your getting it from.

Jeez, at least someone here has the common sense to see Osgood for what he is All of you who cannot seem to get the fact past you that 1998 was ALMOST 8 YEARS AGO. Get over it Osgood isnt going to do this club any good. Manny has what we who are educated past the 9th grade CONSISTENCY(sp?)! Look at Osgoos and Mannys numbers from the last 3 or 4 years. Yeah, manny has played about 30% less games than Osgood, but his numbers blow Osgood and his size XXS jock strap right out of the water. Osgood lovers base their argument on 1998 "The cult of Manny" can all say that their goaltender has been much more consistent, and deserves a chance in the playoffs. Hell, he cant do much worse than osgood's long list of early exits And how many times do I have to say this: Didnt we kick this has-been to the curb for a reason We do not base our arguement on the 98 season. We base it on the way he's played throughout his career. We base it on his great play for the Isles and Blues while he was away from the Wings. But you obviously weren't paying attention to Osgood's play then. So really, you have no room to talk and make up assumptions of what us Osgood fans think.

I'd love to see him in the wings line up on a line with Malts & Booter. Talk about agitating the hell out of the other opponents. haha that'd be great. I hope he has a damn good camp, and plays with GR. He seems awesome, and looks like he could be really good for the future.
