Man I almost forgot the year that Wendel Clark played for the Wings.

Let Boudreau have the Jack Adams. Let Ovechkin have the Richard and Ross. We've got the one that matters. STANLEY

Some of you may not want the Wings in the eastern conference, but the Wings themselves have said on numerous occations that they wanted to be in the eastern conference. If you ask me, I would prefer an eastern conference alignment. As much as we'd lose the rivaly with St. Louis, Chicago, and Colorado. I think to get the rivalry with Toronto, Montreal, and the rest of the original six teams would be worth it. Plus I wouldn't have to wait for games to end at 1:00 in the morning, plus there isn't they possibility of any 10:30 playoff games

If he plays for the Leafs again... It will be like going to prison.

It's the Wolves home feed. Every Wolves game road AND HOME are televised, unlike the home NHL team (although it's not the case now). The announcers are Pat Foley and Billy Gardners, the guys that used to do the Blackhawks games.

Done. Although I have a feeling that some of them might actually "Sin" the cup... They deserve it 4th title in 11 years (sound familiar) They are run like an NHL franchise and they have even outdrawn the Blackhawks in attendance during some games where they were playing on the same night.

It looks like a very underhanded thing to do by TSN/CTV. It seems kinda funny that CBC was bogged down in negotiations and arguements with the rights holder, and then TSN/CTV/RDS swooped in. It seemed like the rights holders were told to put up a big stink with CBC. They couldn't have done this in the few days since the story first came out. This had to have been going on behind the scenes for a while, and while CBC was concentrating on the finals, TSN/CTV was putting the final touches on the deal to acquire the theme.

Lidstrom and Osgood, do they get their numbers retired?
sjradio replied to SFwingsfan's topic in General
I think Lidstrom will have his number retired. But right now he's the only one that probably will Osgood. I think he's a great goaltender, but is he the caliber of player as Yzerman, Sawchuk, Delvecchio, Lindsay, Abel, and Howe.... No. If you retire Ozzie, you might as well retire Tim Cheveldae.... Not gonna happen. At one time I would have considered Marty Lapointe and maybe Sergei Fedorov. I remember that some people thought that Marty LaPointe could have been the next captain after Yzerman. -
I wouldn't call them "new". If you saw the way he played in Grand Rapids this past season, I would call his pads.... "unused" BTW, does anybody know if Fox Sports Detroit or NHL Network is planning on showing the presser at 11????

An Open letter to Dom.... Dom. A heart felt thank you, as interesting as you made some games which didn't need to be. You almost always found a way to give us the win. You are a true professional who has truly shown the perserverance in coming back to the NHL after your injuries these last few years. We know that it couldn't have been an easy decision to go to Detroit after making a life in Buffalo. But your sacrifice helped the Wings to the Cup in 2002 and helped you win your first cup. The stars that most people remember were Yzerman, Shanahan, Hull, and Fedorov. But I look back at the game 6 win in Colorado in the Western Conference Finals, Colorado threw everything at you and you came away with the 2-0 win. The game maybe more known for the Patrick Roy "Statue of Liberty" goal, but you shutout the Avs in game 6 and game 7 to win the West. You even had to deal with Bob Hartley's stick measurement in game 6. You may not have been between the net when the cup was won last week. But you were one of the most important parts of the team all season long. Congratulations on an outstanding career Dom. I hope Hockeytown will always be a part of you, because you will always be a part of Hockeytown. Thanks Dom.

He does.... his nickname in Grand Rapids was "Big Rig".

Well. I think Crosby had a yeast infection..... I'm kidding. As for Malkin, it almost seemed like the way he was playing, he had the flu for more than just games 1 and 2. But as ineffective as he was up until game 6. They might have been better off just sitting him. Especially after the beating he took in the media after games 1 and 2. He was certainly hung out to dry by the Pens coaches and his teammates.

If you get the chance, watch some of the press conferences from after the game. The backdrop for the Wings interviews has a "Stanley Cup Champions" with the wings logo.

I am currently working doing my on air shift on the radio. Here's me celebrating with my red lights on. They've been on since the final horn sounded.
