I would love to see him as an assistant coach down in Grand Rapids, many AHL teams have two assistants, Nothing against Jim Paek, but I would love to see Jiri involved with the organization.

Everybody touts Crosby as the next Gretzky, well I can assure you that Messier would disagree with that statement, and he does have some insight in this subject. Gretz was the best player in the world, and he didn't act like he was the center of attention. His teammates like Mess and Coffey, and Kurri, were more important to his success. Crosby thinks he's the Center of attention because of all they hype. Well Sid, you have to live up to that hype. He's not leading by example. He's the Captain of his fricken team and he doesn't act like it. Looking at other captains around the league, that's what Crosby should try to lead like. Lidstrom, Yzerman, Sakic, Morrow in Dallas. Koivu in Montreal. Brind'Amour in Carolina. Those guys have battled through so much and know what it takes to succeed. I don't think the 20 year old phenom who has had the world handed to him embodies or understands what a captain truly means. I don't think that most players who have been in the league for a few years would seriously feel comfortable to have this unproven "kid" as the one who are being led by. You're the one your teammates look to when things are down, you're the one that should be the first there and last to leave, you're constantly communicating with your head coach, you're giving 110% each and every time you're out there. Sid called a team meeting after game 1's loss. Apparently he's heard that other teams do that when things aren't going so well. Sid... You've got to be the example. Don't whine and cry about it, don't blame the refs, the fans, the other team, you're parents. Go and do something about it.

Probably, I think Franzen was where he was because it was his first game back.

Therrien has always been a crybaby It was the same when he was in Montreal, he did the same thing in the minors when he was in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with the Penguins farm club. He's not a good head coach and never was. He's always been a whiner and now he's being outcoached. Not hard to outcoach anybody in the east. All you have to do is use the Jedi Mind Trick on most of them. Was a mid season replacement in 2000-01, he finished 23-27-1 2001-02 went 36-31-15 and lost in the second round. 2002-03 started 18-19-9 and was fired mid season. (final record with Montreal 77-77-37) 2003-05 coached Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. 2005-06 was a mid season replacement for Ed Olczyk and went 14-29-8 the rest of the year) 2006-07 had Crosby and Malkin fall in his lap and lost in the first round to Ottawa in 5 games

Malkin is like Crosby are both the same way, came into the league with all they hype in the world, have had everything handed to them on a golden platter when they got to the NHL and so far they think that everybody should just be happy that they are playing for Pittsburgh. I'm not saying that they didn't earn the positions where they were drafted, they obviously are very talented hockey players. But sometimes that's not enough. Z and Dats were never though of as "the next ones" They worked at it. They were never thought of in the same light as Malkin and Crosby. They never were expected to be saviours of a franchise. The Penguins are riding on the benefits of some god awful teams which got them the draft picks to get Malkin and Crosby. The Wings are riding on the benefits of a scouting staff that understands the team and what they need to succeed. Malkin and Crosby are not used to things not going their way. They've had the hockey world handed to them and now when reality has set back in. They are incapable of accepting the truth. The world is not handed to you on a platter, you have to work for it and until they realize that. They will never overcome adversity. I wonder what will happen when the times comes for their first UFA contract and they don't get what they want. How bad it will be. Zetterberg and Datsyuk have the heart and desire, right now, Crosby and Malkin don't.
