During the SCF last year, Gary Greene on NHL Network's pre series shows from the Media day interviews in Detroit, had Jimmy D on with him and he said he expects the Wings to begin construction on a new arena within the next 5-10 years.

Manitoba lost in a shootout tonight, Griffins now lead the North by three points, the Moost still have a game in hand. GR is now third in the league. Hershey 51 points Milwaukee 50 points Grand Rapids 49 points

Saw this in the Chicago Daily Herald leading up to the Winter Classic. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=261657&src=149 Make that 19-51-10. That is a .300 winning percentage for Q against the Wings while with the Blues, Avalanche, and now with the Hawks.

The MSU fans probably tuned in to the Wings game as the MSU game went into the second half (If you know what I mean). Boy MSU didn't do well, but then again neither did much of the Big 10 except Iowa, Can't believe I have to root for Ohio State to save the honor of the Big 10.

Missed the game, saw that the Griffins lost 3-1. (Crap) But the good news is that Manitoba lost at home to Rochester 2-1 in regulation. Grand Rapids is still in first. Big game tonight in Manchester.

Wouldn't know about McCollum. Haven't really seen him play enough. Just saw 1 period of the WJ's. Jimmy's got, a some bad habits that pop up seemingly all at once, and like Tuesday, they aren't there at all.

I got a gift card from the NHL store for christmas and order a Lidstrom jersey.. I'll bet you'll be able to find a few dozen Hawks jersey's on ebay, after the choke job by the Hawks after the first, I'll bet more than a few Hawks fans want to get rid of any memory of yet another loss to the Wings.

Look at the TV ads... How many ads had Crosby in it, I think there was only one commercial break that didn't have him or any reference to the NHL's Nancy Boy... Real hockey fans hate him. Casual US fans know the name, but they don't really know how much of a little baby this overrated "superstar" is.

The problem with some football venues is that the NHL doesn't have the prep time for a game like they would at a baseball facility Fenway Park and New Yankee Stadium would be great. Has to be Rangers/Bruins for Fenway or Yankee Stadium. Minneapolis would be a great place next year as the Gophers have a new outdoor football stadium they open this fall. They should play Colorado. -
Detroit probably won't get an All Star game until they get a new arena. Sorry to say, the Joe is not like the new venues that have the amenities that the newer buildings have.

No, it rules out most of southern cities for an all star game. Can't hold a winter classic in warm temperatures otherwise the ice will be terrible. I want the game to mean something.
