Yeah the money sucks but what could the Wings do that is the market? Not sign anyone and lose no they signed a pretty good player for the market price. For all those that say its a bad deal you need to do some reading cause you really don't know what's up with today's NHL. This is a great deal under this market and I actually think it's going to really good for the Wings come playoff time and lets face it that's what we're all gearing up for. I mean who's actually going to challenge the Wings in the Central this year now that Nashville has trade off a bunch of their better players?.

Places that don't support their teams don't deserve to have them and it's as simple as that. Anyone that says the Preds are properly supported has no clue what they're talking about.

Okay then drwscc you can come slap me cause I don't want the Blackhawks in Hamilton I want them right where they are. In case you didn't know the Blackhawks are one of the Original 6 and the NHL should do everything they can to keep them in Chicago. It would be a dark day in the NHL if one of the Original 6 teams moved. As of right now there is no word as to how many tickets that have been sold in Hamilton but Nashville can't even get 14,000 average and if Hamilton gets the Preds you can bet it will sell out every game. Also I'm hearing right now that if the sale doesn't go through there will be lawsuits and Hamilton will win in the end. Nashville has no choice to but to sell the team because the owners want out and if the NHL doesn't sell the team it will make the NHL look bad. Nashville is money losing francise and will be until this stupid lease in the arena is up and the NHL doesn't want to cover it. As for moving 2 teams well the Wings made a stink earlier this year about moving to the East and if this does happen it would lead to a major re-alignment anyways.

Being a Wings fan that grew up in Hamilton I can tell you that this would be awesome for both cities. First off let me say that Hamilton WOULD be able to support the team there and sellout every night. I know Hamilton hasn't been that supportive to minor league teams but that is in part because they've always dreamed of having the NHL and the locals just can't see past that. Secondly I would guess that if Nashville moved to the Hammer that both them and Detroit would now become Eastern teams. When the NHL talked of relocation this past year and names like Blue Jackets moving to the East it was reported and discussed several times that the Wings told the NHL that if anyone was moving to the East it would be the Wings. This would be great for the Wings because the new division would probably be Detroit, Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa and Montreal which would be amazing for fans and the teams. Imagine the Wings not having to fly out West for playoff rounds. No more back to back Califorina playoff road trips for the Wings I think would make a huge difference to playoff success. Even cutting down on the travel during the regular season would help. In my heart as a hockey fan, Wings fan and native Hamiltonian I would love to see this happen unfortunately the NHL is a poorly run business and the people making the decisions don't have a clue when it comes to making the NHL better for everyone. If you don't believe me do what I did and research this yourselves and you'll see I'm right. This league shouldn't be about expanding to places where no one cares about hockey like Vegas or KC it should be about making sure the teams we have now do well and putting the teams that no one wants in places where people are dying for hockey. Since the lockout the NHL has been carried on the backs of Canadians (this is getting to long now but you can check it out yourselves cause I'm right) and because of that Canada should get another NHL team and Hamilton deserves it more than the rest. GO WINGS GO!

I want to add my thanks too. I was a wild ride and I think the younger players will learn from this. Datsyk and Zetteberg started scoring in the playoffs. Thanks again.

I think the funniest thing about this whole thing is that on TSN about two minutes before the hit Gord Miller called it. He said that Pronger is getting unhinged and watch for him to do something.

Non-Michigan fans: How did you become a Wings fan?
KnightFire420 replied to Chaldean's topic in General
You could say I was born a Wings fan. My Dad named me after Gordie Howe. I even have a letter from Gordie to my Dad from about two months before I was born. (1974) My house is covered with Wings stuff and I can't really comprehend not being a Wings fan which is hard because I live in the middle of Leaf Nation. -
Can't see the Wings win?? I can't see how they lose! Wings grind line vs Ducks first line. Wings win there. Wings D vs. Ducks D. Wings D. Without one guy we are still strong and to say they are weak just shows the lack of hockey knowledge. Goalies. Hasek is playing great even when he allows 1 or 2 goals because you get the feeling that if the Wings can score 3 goals they'll win. I think the Wings win in 5.

You know I look at it this way. The playoffs aren't always about just what the stars do. Sure you need the stars to pick it up and score some big goals which Datsyk has done but it's also about their presence. If D and Z get handcuffed on the road it's up to others to pick up the slack which for the most part has happened. Frazen scoring the finisher against Calgary, Langs goal to send game 4 into overtime, etc. I mean Yzerman didn't score the Wings first Stanley Cup winning goal McCarty did. Babecock was on the Fan 590's Hockey News at noon today and his thing was "We are a team that cares about the wins." Personally I like that idea of thought at this time of year instead of Datsyk or Zetteberg or however needs to score all the goals. I also believe that the further we go the hungrier those stars will get and for us that will be a very good thing. Have a good one.

I guess you didn't actually watch the game because Iginla butt-ended Schneider. It was shown a few times on NBC and McGuire said that butt-ending is an automatic suspension. Iginla not getting suspeneded for that is a joke and it's because of who he is that he gets the pass. Wings fans have a right to be pissed about that because if it had been Schneider butt-ending Iginla he would have been suspended.
