Well I know the 1997 game 4 of the Finals is on iTunes...other then that, you'd have to find someone who has the games taped or has connections. Like I taped the 4 finals games of the 1998 playoffs so I have them (for private use of course ) but I'd love to see some of the older games. I.E. Game 7 of the 2002 WCF when we ran Patty Roy outta town

Eh...well, then there you go. By January, you'll know who's in contention and who's not. You'll know who's going to be buyers or sellers at the deadline. And teams can evaluate younger players if they know they can't make it. I know it would drive a few teams into the ground, but lets just put it into perspective. Say each conference, like baseball, gets only 4 teams into the playoffs. The division winners and then a wild card. Lets say our Wings suddenly fall off the table a bit and would get the 5th spot in the playoffs if the season ended today. Okay, thats fine, none of us would really care because there's 8 spots for us to get in. But, say they're in that 5th position with two months to go. They're chasing the wild card spot and the Central leader in the 4 team playoff setting. Each game is crucial, especially against Central rivals and those ahead of us. Attendance would definitely go up, and hockey would start to get fans back because they have a reason to watch. As for those teams that fall into the ground, its their own damn fault. In this NHL, everyone has a fair shot with the cap. These players have a reason to play for. When 8 teams make it, you can get by on mediocrity. If only 4 do, then every game against division rivals is precious and you'd see much better hockey.

Interesting comment indeed, but I was just thinking the same thing last night - only opposite of Ron. I think theres TOO many teams in the playoffs. It should be the division winners and a wild card, like baseball. With 8 teams getting in per conference, it waters down the regular season. You can win half your games and get in. It actually makes the season more boring then it should. If only four teams got in per conference, you'd see more people at the arenas because these games, especially division rival ones, because they mean that much more. If you don't believe me, just look at Tiger games. Its true that they filled up the stadium very nicely night in and night out, but against div rivals, there wasn't a ticket to be had. The place was jam packed because the games meant so much, even at the beginning of the season. I believe it should be div winners and a wild card. Keep 82 games, thats fine, but it'll make games more intense and usually intensity equals happiness for us fans.

Well, first of all, welcome to the boards! Secondly...did you try ebay? It might be there. If not, I'd even google it and see if it pops up somewhere else. Otherwise someone here at LGW might have it and be willing to pass it on to you. Good luck!

No no no haha I meant the hits you see where someone is vulnerable. Meaning off balance or with their back turned. I'm all for hitting, trust me, I loved it when I could play - But all I'm saying is when a guy is already off balance, players need to back off for the sake of injury - but I realize you can't penalize that because its very borderline. I'd love to see hitting from behind taken out completely though. Its too damn dangerous.
-
I know most of you think that looks horrible but take it from someone who broke his neck and can't play hockey anymore because of it. Thankfully I'm not paralyzed, I actually walked away from the hit - but I got crushed almost exactly that way. He is incredibly fortunate to not have broken a vertabre or two or worse. This is one of the things I hate about hockey - how players (and fans) want to see the other team get crushed into the boards. We forget that if someone slips (like I did) or turns a little bit, suddenly you lose your balance and all it takes is a hit to change your life. Bergeron is incredibly lucky he is not hurt worse - but players need to have more respect near the boards. -- Sorry, I realize I'm a little bias but honestly, don't you guys think players need to lighten up near the boards? I love open ice hits but that s*** near the boards is ridiculously dangerous.

Let's face it, Z is going to slow down at some point
Yzermaniac192005 replied to Flip-check's topic in General
Ha, and the "experts" at ESPN predicted Magglio would slow down this year too for our Tigers. You're not one of the "experts" are you? If so then keep predicting bad things since the opposite USUALLY happnes -
Haha...hey Duck guy, this might have been pointed out already, sorry if it has...but in your sig, its definitely Brett Hull, not Brent. I might be missing out on something or just being captain obvious here but I read it and it bugged me haha. GO WINGS!

I'm excited to see flipper on the top line. I'll be there tonight btw go wings!
-
Wow..I'm surprised
-
wow. And he had such promise too.
-
I have a lot of respect for the sox as well, and I also agree about the Tigers but if my boys dont make it this year, then I'm hoping the Cubbies break that terrible curse
-
I agree, finders keepers for sure. But the fact that he wants to give it back for a reward is great, considering he could auction the thing and make much more then he'll probably end up getting. At least this guy's not heartless and is looking out for both sides, not just himself
-
I realize this is a Wings board, but seriously...look at the standings, the Tigers are 1/2 game out of first still. Yes going 1-9 sucks horribly, but Cleveland has done almost just as bad. We've gotten spoiled quick as far as baseball's concerned in this city, but for those of you - like myself- who have been fans their entire lives, this is great that they've got two winning seasons in a row. If they had the lead and now dropped 10 games out, I'd say f*** this season is over - but its way to close to get down on them now. Plus their so injured right now its not even funny.
-
The thing that surprises me the most...is who the hell had enough time to put that list together?! haha but seriously, that's quite a few names and stats. I know I'd much rather have played one game in the NHL then never - but at the same time, that would have to suck to know you made it, but you're only good enough for one game. Brutal.

Favourite Moment of the 06/07 Regular Season?
Yzermaniac192005 replied to BeeRYCE's topic in General
Yzerman retirement comes to mind When we finally pulled away from Nashville to claim the best record in the Central...and West of course. Lidstrom getting the C was cool Dom and Berts first games, respectively. I was glued to the TV at least a half hour before to make sure I didn't miss a second lol. Thats all I can think of though for now...kinda late lol -
That's true.. Anyone remember that Wings game years ago against Calgary when the scoreboard went completely dead in the middle of the game? Or am I thinking of something else..
-
I laughed when I saw it too actually...Its only funny though because no one got hurt. I've played at JLA before with my old team years back and I remember looking up at the scoreboard there and its so huge. I can't even imagine what would have happened if it fell if I was out there. But yeah seeing something that big completely destroyed is kind of comical, but ONLY because no one was injured.

Everyone who's getting upset over this needs to just think twice about it. Obviously the majority of us are Wings fans, but this site wouldn't be nearly as fun without fans from other teams. I know there's trolls around here that like to do stupid stuff, but obviously drsingle is not one of them. I realize I won't be on PredNation like I am here, but before one of the eight games this year, you can be sure I'll either be reading or posting over there, just to see what its like. And if the Preds somehow make this a tight race this year, I know I'll be active over there too, defending my Wings in discussion. All I'm saying is don't diss the man for promoting his site, thats all.

that was great, never saw that before

Eklund at it again. Forsberg to Detroit?
Yzermaniac192005 replied to Reggie Dunlop's topic in General
ehhh...while it is true that many Wings fans made a big 180 on Bert, I don't see the same happening with Forsberg. We already respect him as a player because of his talent and the past rivalry. Many of us just think that he's too injured to be the Forsberg of old. That being said, if he comes here we will definitely support him but you won't see a 180 like you may have for Bert. BTW, this is an Eklund rumor, which means it has no base and he pulled it out of his hind quarters. lol -
Really its not but there isn't really a face that's like a "chuckle" face. like a "heh heh" face, so I went with an "lol" one instead. Plus the whole haha is just to be nice. I try not to be an ass on these boards lol
-
haha good luck bro but I won't be surprised if we never hear from you again on these boards when the girls are thru with you
-
I dont call it out here on these boards because its really a waste of time. Things move so fast on this site and people start so many rumors that it becomes hidden. For instance, I could start a threat that said, "Dom will be a Wing this year" last year and everyone else will start doing the same. Suddenly the trade rumors are full of everyone's opinion and mine gets lost and no one sees it. So thats why I proposed a letsgowings.com/traderumors where myself and some other credible members could help run it. obviously Matt would have to start it but he shouldn't have to run the thing on his own. Just an idea though Yeah I remember that too, but it makes perfect sense. For all we know though, there could be people on this board who are insiders on the Wings. Heck, for all you know I could be a Red Wing. No one really knows who the other is, but we can read each others opinions and predictions - some are just smarter then others and obviously in his case, have better sources then others lol.
-
Haha I would if it didn't cost so much to buy a domain and then keep up the site. I wonder if we could have like a letsgowings.com/traderumors or something? I'd be glad to maintain it but I wonder if thats possible..
