WCF Game 4 GDT (5/17): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

This is reminding me of Game 6 vs the Flames. You could see them just getting tired as the game went on and the Wings starting to control the pace more and more. -

Yeah, and you almost hate to see that. I was really happy we capitalized but at the same time I woulda bet all my money that the next call was going the Ducks way, any little thing that happened. Sure enough it did but our boys killed it -

Bert and Cleary are working phenominaly together on the PP I don't want to split up the Cleary/Malts/Draps line but there's some chemistry between Bert and Dano Either that or just dumb luck -

Yeah true that I'm tryin to let my self remember that for once, we're the ones winning the series at the moment, not down. kind of puts things in a better perspective and helps me relax a bit lol -

MAYBE the first goal he could have had but that was a rocket. The second was a deflection from a skate which I really wish they would show a replay b/c I'm not so sure it wasn't directed in by the foot but hey I can't tell and the third was like a rubber ball that just hopped under his arm if I'm not mistaken. Its not like he's letting in wristers from the point or shots he can see. If that starts happening then I'll agree with you. -

How about everyone just calms down and relaxes for two seconds... Yes, the Ducks are up 3-1 but; The Wings have yet to get a PP They're peppering Giggy so far with shots Giggy doesn't have a SO (thats very key) The goals on Hasek were fluky, except for the first. There were some bad bounces people but no reason to think we should be talking 2-2 heading back to Detroit. Obviously if it is, its not the end of the world -- before we went to Anaheim, we were all just hoping for a split anyways. This next period is definitely crucial but it will be a good one. Come on Wings! -
Those are some lopsided stats but they don't surprise me. I mean, as a Wings fan, we have to put this in perspective and pretend we just lost Nick Lidstrom for tonight. If that were the case, I wouldn't be throwing the towel in and I'd expect Chelly and the other guys to step it up a notch. That being said, I wouldn't expect our special teams to hold up very well. If they entire game were to be played 5 on 5, I would say this Pronger suspension would have very very little effect, if any whatsoever. However he, just like Lidstrom, works the PP and the PK and thats where his absence is going to be felt by the Ducks and hopefully taken advantage of by the Wings. Should be a great game though, I'm really looking forward to it. Go Wings!

Bert should stay and probably will. I think he's honestly found a home here in Detroit, he sounds like he really likes the guys around him. I realize if he had his choice he would love to be on Naslund's wing again, but I think he'd sign here with no problem. And the Wings giving up some picks is no big deal at all. Some of our best picks have been late rounders, I.E. Zetts and Dats, so Kenny is probably not going to take that into account when it comes to Bert. He's going to ask him if he's interested and if so he's going to definitely offer him something. Plus Lang will be gone so theres cap space...and I want Calder to stay but it just doesn't look like it. Kyle had been great and I think he has a broken hand, but I'd like to see him back as well, he'd sign for very little I bet.

Bertuzzi is my pick for the Wings and Selanne for the Ducks.. Bert's been getting better game after game and we all know how one lucky goal is all it takes sometimes to get a player rolling. Selanne has been playing a very mediocre game so with the spotlight off of Pronger and now on him, I expect him to be better. Hopefully he chokes though Go Wings!!! Gotta take advantage of this game.

In the past, when it happened to me, I returned my tickets for a full refund. For example, the year that LA came back and beat us in 6 games, I had game 7 tickets...and obviously never got to go. But I didn't have to go all the way back to JLA to return them, there are other stops and services to do so. Unless that's changed in the past few years then I apologize.

I wish Bert was 100% healthy right now. Just think if he was feeling up to snuff what fear he could put into Pronger with one monstrous hit.
-
I guarantee there will be a suspension out of this. The NHL doesn't hold a hearing every day and with intent to injure being the case they will put their foot down. I realize some folks would say they did nothing to Iginla or the Flames, but they were just being goons. As a hockey player, you can handle a goon, you have plenty enough padding to do so. But getting hit from behind is a scary though. I got hit from behind and ended up breaking my neck and having immediate surgery. Trust me, everyone knows those kind of hits are no joke and you'll be seeing at least a game out of this. If not then the NHL and true hockey fans should be ashamed.
-
I doubt Pronger will get anything because he wasn't given the penalty but who knows. He definitely deserves a fine at the very least but as a Wings fan I'd love to see him gone for a game or two.

True that. Its amazing how Dom can just shut the door when he wants to, especially after an overtime loss. I'm having flashbacks of 2002 after Drury scored in game 5 OT then they never scored again -- and of course, Game 1 of the Finals, where Hasek then won us four straight, including the amazing triple OT game.

Great game Red Wings I always hated Pronger but in a respectful sort of way. It was more of a hatred that he was in our path then anything else. But that hit on Homer still pisses me off. Once I heard he walked down on his own, I knew he would be okay -- seeing as how I've broken my neck playing hockey and have had 2 concussions as well - so when you're walking on your own after a hit, you're usually fine. But I was sitting in my living room just wanting to take a run at Pronger. Sure hes 8 inches taller then me but I'll take my chances.
