Dude's only 29. It's a damn shame.

Watching that video over and over again...this is a tough one. And I'll admit that my judgment is skewed from not having seen the hit initially, but instead hearing about it on NHL Home Ice this morning (they both said that it was an unfortunate hit and they don't think Chara should be suspended; also that an identical hit happened in the BUF/PIT game, but with less dramatic results - any truth to that last bit?). Might it have been an accident? Sure. And we've seen that apparently, accidents aren't suspendable anymore (at least when you're attempting to punch Ott). But watching it again and again, Chara certainly seemed to be aware of where he was on the ice and he definitely gave Pacioretty a good shove right as they were passing the stanchion. Seeing as how suspensions are often doled out depending on results and not necessarily the actions themselves, I'm sensing a suspension upcoming. However, because it's Chara, I'd be shocked if it was any more than a game or two.

I don't see it happening, honestly. Would I be surprised if all the teams around them s*** the bed in the remaining weeks? No, because...well, it's the East. But I just don't see it happening.

The 'Mess' one was neat, though I fail to see why they had to show the 2009 Penguins three times in the first 15 seconds.

So I guess the next time a player "accidentally" gets high-sticked...?

But but but, I thought everything was okay after the Los Angeles game! I knew the games immediately following that one would be letdowns, especially considering the goals given up at the end of that one. That's why I couldn't truly enjoy that win, because I knew that more garbage would be coming right up. This team's getting way too predictable, sadly.

Should be a suspension. A good one too, I don't care if that s***'s "accidental". You don't punch a linesman/ref. Well, maybe O'Halloran. But that's it.

That and he doesn't play for the right team.

I honestly don't see us getting out of the 2nd round...and even that depends on who we draw in the 1st round. Everyone else is going to tighten up their D, but we'll still be giving up at least 3 goals a game. Just a feeling.

This will not end well.

You're making the assumption that this team would be able to score 7 goals in the defensively-tighter playoffs. Games like the 2010 Game 4 against the Sharks or 2002 Game 7 against the Avs are aberrations. We've seen this team struggle to score more than 2 in the postseason and recently. When I say this s*** isn't going to fly in the playoffs, I mean our defense and goaltending giving up consistently 3+ goals a night, because I sure as hell don't have confidence in this team being forced to score 4+ goals consistently in the playoffs. EDIT: And don't get me wrong - I'm happy that we won and were able to score 7 goals. But I also remember what happened the last time this team scored 7 goals - we got shut out the next two games in a row.

Just finished watching the game (leeched a torrent this morning) and while I like the offensive outburst...it was still four goals against AGAIN. Geez, guys. This s*** isn't going to fly in the playoffs - you can't expect to score 5+ goals every night, not when the playoffs are so much tighter defensively.

I find it interesting that he'd run his mouth like that knowing that the cameras are still running to some respect. I mean, they have to know that with those international feeds and whatnot, the intermissions/commercial breaks feature live audio.
