Meanwhile, Lilja is outscoring us tonight.

According to the brother of the "Rypien fan", all the kid said was, "Way to be a professional!" http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Brother-of-Rypien-fan-All-he-said-was-Way-to?urn=nhl-278610 Rypien's getting the book thrown at him.

He's old and washed up! Put him on waivers! According to Bob McKenzie, Bettman's getting directly involved as well since this case isn't a matter of on-ice discipline, which is Campbell's domain. I'm starting to get the feeling more and more than we're looking at a 20+ game suspension, particularly because Rypien's a relative nobody. If this was someone like Sedin or Luongo, then you might see a game or two, no more.
-
From what I read on Bob McKenzie's Twitter, all the fan was doing was vigorously applauding Rypien's exit from the game. Rypien's gotta get at least a couple games for that. McKenzie thinks even more than that.

I still say we trade Salei back to Anaheim for Lils.

Crosby sucks. Oh wait, wrong thread. Watching the replay, however, I have to agree with Wilson - that was a bit of a marginal call, especially in OT. Lebda clearly made an effort to avoid the goaltender and I've seen goaltender interference not called on worse offenses than that. Leafs got screwed. But it's still funny that it was Lebda's fault that they're no longer undefeated.
-
And Lebda singlehandedly ruins the Leafs' undefeated record. Epic lulz.

<< I concur. (Sorry, was too good to not use. )

The one problem we'd see (and I know we used to see it in the past) is that teams will take fewer risks in OT, knowing they could lose the tie point. Fewer risks mean a lessened chance of that tie being broken. Of course, we have a similar problem with the shootouts now - teams that are highly skilled in the shootout will play for the tie in OT, simply waiting for the almost-guaranteed win in the shootout. Given the choice between the two, however, I'd prefer to go back to the former. At least that doesn't award loser points.
-
I'd be fine with allowing ties again, but make it so neither team gets a point if OT ends in a tie. Makes for a little more urgency then. Get rid of the garbage shootout.
-
Oh good god...that was quite possibly the worst weekend I've ever had in the picks.
-
Exactly. The page they have going now is garbage, only seems to update every few minutes instead of having a real-time running clock and everything. Just another example of the league screwing things up.
-
NHL.com's updated site is effing awful. Why'd they get rid of the popout live scoreboard? THAT actually worked, unlike the piece of s*** they have now.
-
Welcome to 2-1-2. Blargh. EDIT: Or not.
-
They're just scared of goaltender interference calls now.
-
So, does Doan get suspended for two games now...?
-
I'm now convinced that McCrummy is running the PP.
-
If they do that, they'll just get the goal called back.
-
They never should have hired him in the first place. He's a disaster wherever he goes. Sadly, they're never going to fire him. Just a hunch.
-
Is McCrimmon in charge of the PP or something too?

A little from Column A, a little from Column B...
