Not a bad deal. Biron's a decent tender and will lighten Lundqvist's load.
-
Sure, he could really lighten Jimmy's workload. (I keed, I keed.)
-
Bob McKenzie has actually said that Anaheim's in the mix now, which would explain their delay on Bobby Ryan.

I got bored today at work and decided to spruce up a recent photo. A friend of mine said my messenger bag strap looked vaguely bandolier-like...but I think I may have gone slightly overboard.

Approves.

Oooh, that would be fun! I'd like to see them have to suffer with Huet. Or, even more hilariously, signing someone like Turco.
-
Curious... True, true, the article says he wouldn't rule out any more trades. But the implication of the article was that they didn't need to shed any more salary, which wasn't true.

Nashville?

As long as he doesn't go to Pittsburgh. If he goes to Pittsburgh, there's going to be a vodka shortage in the state of New Jersey. IIRC, most of our injured corps were back by then, even Franzen. Mind you, I might be creating a false causal relationship, but that's the way I saw it during the end of the season. We didn't seem to be stringing together consistent wins until Lilja was back. Take that as you will.
-
You must be mistaken. Before the concussion, Lilja missed a total of five games with the Wings due to injury/illness: 2 due to a back injury, 1 due to the flu and 2 due to an appendectomy. Any other games not played before the concussion were as a healthy scratch. Eh, fair point, I'll accept that. But honestly, Lilja deserves a bigger role on the team given his play. I was still baffled when Babcock scratched him in favor of Lebda at one point in the playoffs.

And if that's true...@#$% Holland. I've defended most of Holland's choices these past few seasons because there's a reason he's a GM and I'm not. But this is just asinine. Watch for our PK to be one of the, if not the worst in the league this next season. McCrimmon - Lilja = a recipe for disaster. We've already seen this. Agreed. I'm pissed at Holland. Lils is no Norris candidate, but he's been an integral part of our defense. Hell, look at the Wings' record this past season AFTER he returned. It was a HUGE difference. Not to mention that he was statistically the best shot blocker on the team in the regular season and postseason by a mile.

Needless to say, I'm pissed. For once, GET IT DONE, KENNY.

Rafalski Considered "top six signings since the 2005-06 season"
edicius replied to cjm502's topic in General
Yeah, it's a bit early to call Hossa one of the top signings, I'd think. -
The specific dive I mentioned (Crosby diving after being touched by Gonchar and not an opposition player) was just this past season. I didn't realize that the 2009 playoffs were also within Crosby's "first couple seasons". Prime example: I usually make it a point to not feed trolls, but I'm bored today.
-
So...Nabokov to the Pens, then?
-
And he certainly doesn't do it when he gets touched by his own players. I happen to remember Crosby trying dramatically to sell a call...against Gonchar. As for Holmstrom always interfering with the goalie? Uhn-uh. He's honed that part of his game to a science. He knows where he needs to be. Problem is, he USED to interfere more and as a result, he just gets reputation calls made against him now, sometimes in cases where, relatively speaking, he's nowhere near the goaltender. If anything, goaltenders have a habit of interfering with HIM. Unless the repeated hacks and slashes became legal when I wasn't watching, I mean.
-
I just don't think there will ever be a serious crackdown on diving unless it's a different set of players consistently doing it - players like Avery would get it called every time; players like Crosby would never get it called. It's the same thing when it comes to headshots. Guys like Pronger and Cooke get a free pass; players like Carcillo or Downie are made examples of.
-
Huge signing for them if true. They just need to manage his starts better than they were managed in San Jose.
-
Those are unexpected trading partners.
-
And in a couple years, we'll see Marleau somewhere like Ottawa, then shortly thereafter, demoted to the minors and then bought out. Cheechoo 2.0.

Annnd it's confirmed in GD. Nevermind.

Wow. Good pick ups for Atlanta, I'd have to say.

Wow, that was quick. Right after I posted the rumor from TFP in the Rumor Mill. Source?
