I still can't figure out why Babcock did that. It definitely contributed to the loss.
-
I just think he's an idiot for even bringing up Crosby or Kane in the discussion.
-
Amen to that. Messier isn't half the leader Yzerman was.
-
Aw man, I'm toast. Congrats, FRW. Grrr.

The funny thing is that Howard had a similar SV% the last game he played. And he's been playing again and again. Osgood hasn't played in months and performed the same as Howard's last game.

Ron Hextall wouldn't return their calls, so...

Reminds me of what happened in St. Louis a couple seasons ago. They had to have gone through at least 7 goaltenders that season. -
I think I see it now. Babcock wanted Howard to get the record for consecutive starts. We have to admit, also, that Ozzie's going to have an different team playing in front of him than his last start.
-
Well, apparently, Vigneault has a "plan", according to what he said on TSN. He wanted to keep Raycroft rested for next game...apparently at the risk of completely embarrassing his star goaltender.

Does this year prove that hockey doesnt belong in phoenix?

I won't argue with that. Continental was a hole. The Rock is phenomenal, though. I've only been to one game there, but I'm very tempted to check out some playoff action this year, especially if the Devils go up against the Penguins. -
Don't feel bad, I'm only a couple weeks away from hitting 20K.
-
Penguins belong on the Discovery Channel or National Geographic. More hockey, less nature shows on Versus.
-
Well, as of today, they're up to 10.6%. And to explain how they're calculated over there, it's based on simulations: So, to sum it up, through the millions of simulations that their program played, the Flames reached the postseason in 10.6% of all simulations. It's not an exact science (and I'm sure as hell not a math guy), but it makes sense to me.

Thanks as always, Aussie (and also thanks to Dan Bylsma for his helpful contributions too). Friday: Chicago @ New Jersey Montreal @ Philadelphia NY Rangers @ Tampa Bay San Jose @ Minnesota Edmonton @ Dallas Calgary @ Colorado Vancouver @ Anaheim Saturday: Atlanta @ Pittsburgh Ottawa @ NY Islanders Nashville @ Detroit Boston @ Toronto Buffalo @ Montreal New Jersey @ Carolina NY Rangers @ Florida Washington @ Columbus Dallas @ St Louis Edmonton @ Phoenix x2 Anaheim @ Los Angeles Sunday: Detroit @ Philadelphia Calgary @ Chicago San Jose @ Colorado Minnesota @ Vancouver

Personally, I think the whole team name needs an overhaul. Maybe something more in the vein of wildlife. Detroit Sea Otters? Detroit Walruses? Aquatic wildlife is all the rage these days in the NHL.

I'm not too sure about that. Look at the Devils. They still can't sellout playoff games. -
And if you look at that, even if we lost the remaining 6 games of the season, we'd still have a 66% chance of making the playoffs. A far cry from the 34% we were at a little over a month ago.

And the Blues are well on their way to winning over the Mural Boys. EDIT: Er, seems they've won.
-
And if someone has the Lilja goal on YouTube, you'll be my best friend for the week.
-
Chicago's losing in the 3rd, so anything's possible. For us to catch Chicago would take a collapse of Mets-like proportions. Would be amusing.
-
And I'd definitely be hopping on a train into Newark for some playoff games.
-
TSN's saying it's not serious. According to the San Jose Mercury News:
-
Gah, Jersey and Chicago are killing me right now. Philly's up 4-0 on the Devils, Columbus is up 3-1 on Chicago (Niemi's in net).
-
Rangers vs. Devils, Yankee Stadium. Voilà.
-
Minnesota vs. Colorado? I'd watch in a heartbeat. And I'm not particularly a fan of either of those teams. Pittsburgh vs. Washington? Nuh uh. And I'm an Ovie fan. But if Bettman does that, it's just more Pittsburgh bias showing through.
